Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie launched into former President Trump with dismay over his comments describing Vladimir Putin as 'very savvy' and a 'genius.' Christie, a former close advisor to Trump who trained him for his debates in 2020, wrote on Twitter: 'How can anyone with any understanding of the world call Putin's decision to invade Ukraine "genius" and "very savvy" as we watch him unite the rest of the world against Russia in nearly an instant?'
Russia's invasion of Ukraine has triggered aggressive sanctions the world over-even typically neutral nations like Sweden and Switzerland have joined the European Union's sanctions plan to starve and isolate the Russian

I didn’t think the debates went that well, considering the mental state of Biden. President Trump was much more aggressive during the Hillary debate. Doughboy is probably one of those giving really bad advice to President Trump and now he’s attacking publicly due to delusions of grandeur that he could be President.

In World War 2 is was common even in the American press to refer to certain enemies as 'savvy' or 'smart' or a good tactician. General Patton said that the work of Erwin Rommel, General Feldmarschall, in north Africa and the Normandy defense was extremely smart at times. As Trump said, Putin looks smart in comparison to dumbell politicians in Washington and the European Union. Christie's words are from the Democrat playbook desiminated by the MSA. LETS GO BRANDON

Easy for Christie to say this now that a week has gone by after Trump's comments.
And we all have seen how this mess has subsequently unfolded
Pretty cheap shot by a fat political hack.
I would call him 'gutless' but that would be an inaccurate description in this case.

Let's see, the whole world is united against Russia -- except none of them have the cajones to send any troops on the ground.
That says clearly that they know Ukraine cannot win this war and don't want to physically get dragged into it.
Putin is evil -- Hitler-level evil!!! But he is a strong leader and very smart. He is like a chess master -- always 6 steps ahead of his opponents. I don't say that as someone who likes Putin or thinks he is a good guy in any way. Like I said, he is Hitler-level evil. But he is very good at it!!!

RINOS and Novus Ordists cannot read maps. In Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, the 800-day siege by Germans and Finns starved 2,000,000 Russians. Not far away in Stalingrad another 2,000,000 died in epic combats. It is against the National interest of Russia to have US in their border. The Baltic Countries, like the Ukraine led by Stepan Bandera, were harvesters of Jews for the death camps. This is already bad enough for Russia, but if Sweden and Finland join NATO we will have triggered WWIII. Believe me for your own good. George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Trey Gaudy, Amy Klobchar and Lindsey Grahman disagree with me.

Both sides in this little ballet are flat out evil. The Russians have been committing wholesale slaughter for longer than any of us have been alive, and the Ukrainians are the most corrupt SOBs this side of DC. I really dont care who wins. Or loses.
What does bother me is how much of the US political establishment and MSM are backing Ukraine, very vocally. That includes Soros. It appears our elites have more hands in the cookie jar than we know about. To blazes with all of them.

"Putin is smart, savvy and agenius", said Trump and all those suffering from TDS including those within the GOP, try to excoriate by taking him out of context: Trump only applies those epithets to Putin because the latter only flexes his muscles and resorts to force when there are weak US Presidents: he took over the Crimea by force when Obama was in the chair and under Bidet he is attempting to take over the Ukraine by force. Did not dare try anything under Trump;s administration tho.

Christie runs out to throw a little firecracker at Trump again. Anyone with a brain knew exactly what President Trump was saying. It was smart for Putin to wait for weakness before he decided to strike. And who has been weaker than old slow Joe? Christie is so utterly transparent. He wanted to pile on Trump with the media in hopes of being seen as moderate and thoughtful. Come on, man! Even old Joe can see Christie is nothing but an opportunist. He doesn’t have any core values other than positioning himself as a player even possibly a nominee. Fat chance! If the country needs anything it is an America first, country loving patriot who makes decisions based upon what is best for the country and people, not some corrupt political hack who is always playing an angle.
Note to Christie: No one is listening to you. You have no political juice and even less integrity. Go grab some pasta and a good wine and enjoy yourself. You know that’s where your heart is.

How can a person with his greatest political "achievement" claim as governor of one of the most corrupt and incompetently-run states in the union make critical comments about a dog warden, let alone a President of the US?
Christie's best-known political accomplishment was blocking the George Washington Bridge followed by eating so much at political events that meeting planners ordered twice the normal servings when he would be attending.

Too bad the media is as dumb as the President Trump haters. They would realize that PRESIDENT Trump was mocking this administration. Biden is supporting this war by buying oil and natural gas from Russia.
And I still think that if Zalensky would tell ole lunch bucket Joe that he will tell all, things would change.

Oh, the distance some politicians will go to take comments out of context. Putin WAS 'savvy' to invade Ukraine - savvy in an evil way. President Trump did not say that about Putin because Trump agrees with Putin and they're best buds - Trump said it as a cautionary tale or warning. Trump may be inelegant with his speech but I understood exactly what he meant. Too bad vermin politicians on both sides of the aisle hate Trump so much they'll glom onto any comment to make him look bad.

I seem to recall Trump calling Putler's initial limited incursion a shrewd move which is exactly how I saw it. Had Poot done this incrementally avoiding any move until the world adjusted their mindset from the last avoiding any significant wake up calls to the West he could have done this without destroying Russia in the process. Haven't we essentially "gotten over" the invasion of Crimea?
I don't know that Trump expressed any appreciation for tactical methods after Stalin er.... I mean Putin went full scale invasion. If so I may have missed that.

Putin is cleaning out a rotted government called Ukraine that has been in bed with numerous US politicians for more than a decade now. Any nation, and I mean ANY nation has a right to clean out such a leak right on their doorstep. Maybe if Biden and company hadn't been getting payoffs from that government, this might not be going on.

Time for a what if question.
What if Dollar Bill Clinton, instead of ejaculating his way into the Oval Office, had supported a special cluster of former Soviet countries.,, helping them to achieve associate status with NATO and EU?
And what if he had not given our uranium reserves to Russia? And what if he had selected a competent Secretary of State?

Once again, Trump isn't wrong. Putin pulled this stunt not when someone with a real backbone was in the White House. He did it when there was a potted plant as president. Putin did this when the potted plant eliminated U.S. energy independence. The last time Putin did this was when the Kenyan was in office, and the potted plant was VP. Just because Trump called Putin savvy, doesn't mean Trump is cheering for Putin to succeed. Trump was commenting on the timing of the invasion.

Putin's decision to invade Ukraine "genius" and "very savvy". That is not what Trump said. He was talking about how Putin was smart in the way he was handling Biden. He said he was playing Biden like a drum. And he's right. Biden always claims he was the only one who went toe to toe with Putin. Fact is Biden is and always been a buffoon. Christie knows this and is better off keeping his mouth shut.

Because I love the majority of Trump's policy decisions and would like him in position to undo Biden's destructively poor decisions, I just wish that Trump didn't require an army of 'context explainers' to assure those who only understand plain language. While I share the general disdain for Christie, the broad context of Trump's comments, coming as they did while Ukrainians were being killed and their nation's critical infrastructure was being degraded and destroyed were predictably taken as more grist for the anti-Trump mill.

With the weakness and stupidity in the current administration, it made it seem like a good time to do what Putin has wanted to do since 2014 when his puppet Yanukovych was run out of Ukraine, running right back to Russia, of course.
