Moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin recognised two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine as independent on Monday and ordered the Russian army to launch what Moscow called a peacekeeping operation in the area, upping the ante in a crisis the West fears could unleash a major war.
Putin told Russia's defence ministry to deploy troops into the two breakaway regions to "keep the peace" in a decree issued shortly after he announced recognition for Russia-backed separatists there, drawing U.S. and European vows of new sanctions. It was not immediately clear the size of the force that Putin was dispatching, when they would cross the border

Russia wins without firing a shot........................................
How long before these breakaways decide to re-unify with mother Russia?

At some point, there will be a UN declaration that Texas and Arizona "belong" to Mexico and if democrats are in power, they'll agree.

Something is odd here. Are we to believe that Putin has kept between 100,000 and 190,000 Russian troops, missiles, aircraft and a large naval presence surrounding Ukraine for the past 6 months in order to seize two small slivers of eastern Ukraine? The costs of this deployment surely exceeds the economic benefit of this slight expansion of Russian territory. Why would Putin take such a minuscule bite of an impoverished Ukraine? Don’t understand, unless this is a feint to seize the rest of this country. Can someone elaborate?

Looks like at this point Putin has told Biden to go jump in the lake, and to tell Micron with him!

Thanks Biden. Once again not a single thing this miscreant has done since the first day he took office has benefited America. Not a day goes by when this moron and his “advisers “ haven’t done some ignorant, stupid thing that hasn’t made our situation worse. FJB

Just as Neville Biden allowed allow the Nacis t invade Austria and the Czech rebublicans, so too does Neville Biden allow Vlad to invade the Ukraine. Make no mistake, this is an invasion Neville Biden wanted. And he and Vlad worked out a way to do it bloodless. A gallon of sweat now, will save a pint of blood latter. But Neville Biden doesn't care about our military personal's blood

Biden to be placed in a cage and displayed naked in public Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 3 PM. Throw anything at him so long as it doesn’t make a loud noise. To continue until the end of his term of office.

Putin wants a route to the Black Sea. Putin wants control of the Ukraine's pipelines. Putin wants to control the life blood of Europe, oil and natural gas. What Putin wants, Putin will get. FJB can't do a damn thing about it without starting a nuclear conflict. FJB is not over his head, his head is so far up his rectum he can't see out of his navel.

The Ukrainians won't fight the Russians. They know they can't win, and it's not worth losing lives and destroying their country over.
Besides the Russians have invaded and ruled Ukraine for the majority of the last 150 years. If it doesn't happen now, it will happen again soon.
If the Russians invade, it will be very quick and bloodless. And the only thing Lyin' Joe bidet will do is read a harshly-worded speech that he didn't write and really doesn't understand what he is saying (because of that pesky dementia thing). Lots of threats that bidet is neither capable of actually doing, and won't have the guts to follow through on.

This could all be avoided if Ukraine simply declared that it would not join NATO. They could play both the east and west for their own benefit, leaning which ever way offers the best incentives. The breakaway territories and the Crimea we’re lost because of the overthrow of the democratically elected president who leaned toward Russia. Russia could no longer rely on the agreements made breaking up the old Soviet Union to protect the interests of ex-Soviet citizens. Russia had long term leases on their bases in the Crimea which they rightly assumed would be revoked. Millions of Russians died fighting in the Donbas during WWII. This territory bulges into the underbelly of Russia.
