Students sitting their SAT exam will be able to do so online from 2024, with the new test also set to be shortened by an hour to make for a less stressful experience.Test-takers will be allowed to use their own laptops or tablets but they'll still have to sit for the test at a monitored testing site or in school, not at home. The digital SAT won't require a pencil, will provide students with a simple calculator, and will see results published within days, axing the current weeks-long wait. The format change is scheduled to roll out internationally next year and in the U.S. in 2024.

With the left , what ever it is it's always about feelings. What's wrong with stress? Unless you plan to be a hermit (and event then ) there will always be some form of stress in your life. Learn to deal with. You'll be better for it. Tougher, Stronger. Resilient.

And when will the results be "corrected" for race? You know subtract from asians and whites, add for others?
To be FAIR, of course.

I totally agree with this decision. We need to protect these little angels. We don’t want them stressed or upset or threatened in any way. This will teach them how to deal with real life when they get out in the world. But we must never stress them out. Each student should also be issued a puppy or teddy bear to cling to so they feel safe during these horrendous, tortuous tests. S/off. Idiots.

I predict that number of perfect scores goes way up. First, all people of color will automatically be given a perfect score and whites will hire a group of PhDs to sit with them to take the test. This test will become meaningless.

We think the current snowflake generation is helpless and has their heads up their posteriors? Just wait a few more years until the next bunch of butterflies get their wings.

The feminized, woke pansies don't get it...Hardship and challenge is a GOOD thing. It makes you strong and wise. Greenhouse flowers, raised in a rarified environment, perish in the real world. We aren't doing our kids any favors.

I never quite understoo the reason for the SAT. Seemed to help me though because when I was called into the counselor's office for the initial one-on-one to begin my academic career, the counselor said "good news, you don't have to take 'bonehead' and a bunch of other stuff. This saved me the best part of a year.

This is silly. Just go straight to the end:
Charge for the test based on race.
Give pre-determined scores also based on race.
Don't bother the kids with all this time wasting testing stuff. It just annoys everyone and is completely unnecessary.

Okay, I'm just reading the headline. But giving them an hour LESS to take the test will cut the stress down? On the math half (do they even still have that?) I needed all the time I could get.

How do you take the Math part of the SAT with no pencil and a calculator? What exactly is being measured here? How well they can punch buttons? Low expectations yield low results. And, as others have pointed out, once these precious darlings hit the real world, they will not last long.

For better or worse, we are rapidly approaching the day when a Harvard degree is indistinguishable from a Phoenix University degree.
Or maybe that happened already,
