Remember, if you move to a red state from a blue, you're moving here as a refugee, NOT a missionary. Don't vote the same way that caused the chaos you're moving from.

Don't fool yourselves -- most of the relocations are less about getting lower taxes than about turning a red state blue.

If Newsom is able to get his rubber stamp legislature to pass the bill, California will start giving full Medicaid benefits to illegal and legal residents alike. He didn't mention how this gets paid for, but I suspect a lot more people are not going to stick around to find out.

U-Haul says trucks are almost impossible to find around NY, I'll bet that it's similar in California.

I escaped NY decades ago. If not for family obligations I would have left CA a long time ago.

How many are former local or state employees? It's funny how state employees demanded their fellow citizens cough up the tax dollars for their salary, retirement and health care then move to low / no tax states upon retirement.

Yankees have almost turned North Carolina blue. Please don't come to South Carolina unless you're conservative and you practice common sense on a regular basis.

Residents who move aren't stupid. However, this is what their votes got them.

Mrs. Lakerman's nephew has a good paying job that allows him to work on line, and he has done so for several years, while living in California.
Then it struck him that he was paying a huge premiun for living in California, in income taxes and housing costs, so he researched every possibility for relocation, and chose Tennessee.
I can purchase a mansion in Tennessee for 400,000 dollars, but that same amount of money in California fpr a house will get me not very much.
And when he moved to Tennessee, and the neighbors welcomed him and his family, he learned that the neighbor across the street came form the same town in California, as did one , just one block away.
One of the unexpected outcomes of the Kung Flu 'pandemic' has been to convert lots of jobs from in-person to on-line, which allows for a blue state exit. Higher productivity working from home, no commuting costs, almost zero dry cleaning expenses, along with reductions in wardrobe costs, and, especially for women, much lower hair care costs.
The workplace has changed so dramatically. I can't even imagine what my graduate Human Resource Management classes would look like now.
