The British energy industry is headed for a big shakeup as wholesale natural gas prices have been climbing since the beginning of this year. The latest gas price at the Dutch TTF hub, a European benchmark, gained on Monday to trade at 73.150 euros ($85.69) per megawatt-hour, close to the record high seen last week.
The benchmark has risen a whopping 250 percent since January.
British Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng felt it necessary to assure the British public that there would be gas to heat their homes this winter.
“There is absolutely no question of the lights going out or people being unable to heat their homes,” Kwarteng told the House of Commons.

The U.S., U.K. and Australia have announced the formation of the AUKUS alliance, in open concert against Chinese expansion. “Britain has entered into a security pact with the US and Australia to counter China that will involve building a nuclear powered submarine fleet and wide-ranging projects on cyber warfare, artificial intelligence and quantum computing.”
“The first programme of the AUKUS alliance will be the construction of a fleet of nuclear-powered submarines for the Australian navy, with American and British companies taking part in the manufacturing process.” This marks a radical departure for Australian defense policy, whose navy

During a joint press conference on Wednesday in which President Joe Biden, joined virtually by Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia and Prime Minister Boris Johnson, announced the creation of a trilateral security partnership AUKUS, Biden seemed too forget Morrison's name.

After finishing his statement, Johnson handed it over to Biden. Biden thanked Johnson, and said to Morrison, "I want to thank that fellow down under. Thank you very much pal," not calling him by name. During the brief press conference, the three announced that as the first step of the trilateral partnership between the countries, they would be creating a fleet of nuclear powered submarines.

One does not wish to join the pandemic of viral fear whipped up by our political leaders, collusive medical “experts,” and the grossly irresponsible and programmatically ignorant media conglomerate. And yet, there is good reason to fear being inscribed in the category of “the unvaccinated”—the New Jews at risk of disenfranchisement and worse in the increasingly fascist temper of the times.
From my perspective, this is not a frivolous analogy. Growing up Jewish in a small town in the north of Quebec under the sway of an ultramontane clergy, I know what it is to be publicly mocked, prohibited as an undesirable from entering certain local establishments, and fighting my

One recalls C.S. Lewis’ dystopian novel That Hideous Strength, a longtime favorite of mine, where he speaks of “false writings” and “men maddened with false promises and soured with true miseries.” Lewis held to an apocalyptic vision of moral and intellectual surrender to the idols of mere self-sufficiency and hedonistic indulgence, of a time characterized by the death of meaning and the weakening of belief in a just and merciful God. “The shadow of one dark wing is over all Tellus,” the human spirit is being progressively “enclosed,” as he describes it. There is not much of the Rapture here, little indication of the new Jerusalem prophesied in Revelation.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix in a stunning McLaren one-two with Lando Norris at Monza on Sunday while Formula One title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton took each other out of the race.
The victory was McLaren's first since 2012 and Ricciardo's first since he was at Red Bull in 2018.
"About time," smiled the happy Australian. "To lead literally from start to finish, I don't think any of us expected that.
"To not only win but to get a one-two, it's insane. For McLaren to be on the podium is huge."

Retaliation. Witness tampering. Felony criminal conduct.
These charges are being aimed at the man Travis County, Texas, voters elected to prosecute criminals in November 2020. And the charges stem from one of José Garza’s highest-profile and most controversial cases. On the night of July 25, 2020, a group of protesters illegally took over an intersection in downtown Austin. They approached a car as it was trying to make its way past the crowd through the intersection. One of the protesters, Garrett Foster, was carrying a loaded AK-47 rifle. As Foster approached the car in the darkness that night, apparently pointing the rifle at the driver, the driver, Army Sgt.

On Friday, two California councilwomen filed a complaint with the LAPD over alleged “hate crimes” committed by protestors. On Wednesday, the women, Latina Soledad Ursua and Chie Lunn, were walking with California gubernatorial recall candidate Larry Elder as he toured a Venice Beach homeless encampment when a white woman wearing a pink-haired gorilla mask hurled both eggs and racial slurs at the group. [Tweets] California Globe reports, “Ursua says she and Lunn, both members of the Venice Neighborhood Council, ‘are the only women of color on the council,’ and felt targeted” by the aggressive and violent protestors. Larry Elder, a black man, is a person of color as well.

Old Joe Biden’s handlers are in the process of bringing 94,000 Afghan refugees into the UnitedStates, and really, only a racist, bigoted “Islamophobe” could possibly object to such a grand humanitarian gesture, right? Yet a migrant couple in Pennsylvania illustrated Thursday that there is ample reason to temper our enthusiasm over Old Joe’s welcome mat: Shahidul Gaffar, a naturalized citizen, and his wife, Nabila Khan, a legal permanent resident, both from Bangladesh, were sentenced to federal prison for sending nearly $5,600 to Khan’s brothers, who happen to be Islamic State (ISIS) jihadis.
As Gaffar was sentenced, he declared: “God bless America, God bless the United States.”

In Afghanistan the world is again seeing that radical Islam is an ideology premised on murdering non-believers and using that example to intimidate everyone else. Historically, the same has been true of leftism, when its adherents have achieved totalitarian control in a country.
Leftists don’t have totalitarian control in America yet, so over the last few years they have mostly given us a heads-up about their desires by rolling out mock guillotines during their protests and riots, posing for photographs with mock-ups of President Trump’s guillotined head, talking about burning down the White House, and on social media wishing death upon Trump, his supporters, and Americans who express

The Biden administration this week signaled that it is eyeing a United Nations small arms treaty that critics claim will lead to an international gun registration plan — including for individual American gun owners. Two years after former President Donald Trump withdrew from it, a top arms diplomat at the State Department told the global body that the current administration is swinging behind the Arms Trade Treaty.
“I have come from Washington, D.C., this week to take the floor on the agenda item Treaty Universalization to underscore the continuing commitment of the United States to responsible international trade in conventional arms,” William Malzahn said at the

In a move reminiscent of the moral panics against Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and rock ‘n roll in the 1950s, the Chinese Communist Party is vowing to get tough on effeminate men because “revolutionary culture” is in danger.
The Chicoms are a little vague on who or what constitutes “sissy men,” but the real goal of the directive is to eliminate pop culture influences from South Korea and Japan and reinforce traditional Chinese Communist Party views on morality.
The campaign is part of a larger program initiated by President Xi that he refers to as “national rejuvenation.”
