The headline stories today are large, and so is the background as these issues surface. Context becomes increasingly important as each aspect is reviewed. As you look at the stories, remember this context (emphasized as a reminder):(snip)Factually, President Trump’s strategic approach toward foreign threats and foreign intervention (through the use of geopolitical economic pressure) was a major paradigm shift that removed the Defense Department from a primary role, and placed them back into a more appropriate ‘contingency’ role when it came to foreign policy and national security.
It was obvious from the outset of the Trump administration that the Pentagon did not like that position.

I detest the four-star d#$&+ebag Miley. That notwithstanding, I am 69 years old and have seen enough four-star mendacity from Woodward, CNN, and the Washington Post to make me decide to sit on this story until it plays out.

I believe Miley had a huge hand in the 2020 fraud election. Hang him from the yardarm!

Lock Milley in a cell, leave a bottle of vodka and a pistol on the table.

I don't doubt he's a bum, but it is OBAMA behind the scenes calling the shots since he left office.

An honorable man would have already resigned in disgrace... He's hanging with the right group of scoundrels. Oops... I said hanging with.

Great article and supports the theory of a coup against President Trump but the fallout is now the question with the jockeying to protect themselves and finding a scapegoat. Two issues present themselves now. 1 How will it impact Biden and his ability to remain in office. A good place to start is looking at Harris’ schedule as to who she has been meeting. Pentagon and CIA officials to put her under their control of Biden is removed. 2 Are we now going to see more of war footing to protect Taiwan against China (we already are seeing that in recent days and Xi rebuff of Biden calling for a face to face) or more pressure on Russia regarding Crimea. The pentagon needs wars to justify budgets and promotions. Biden’s support of Milley shows his weakness and feeble mind. More importantly we are seeing the disintegration of this administration and its ability to lead. Regardless the disUnited States is in deep trouble both domestically and internationally.

What IF a jury made up of returning soldiers from WW2 were to pass judgment on Milley? My guess is that they would have deep-sixed him pretty fast. Today's selfie/moratorium/porn-obsessed fools just say "Whatever!" OBiden can count on American distracted clowns to support just about anything if he says it with his fake smile on. Like "The Vaccine makes you IMMUNE to COVID." Remember THAT lie?
You can get an inkling of the epithet-laced threats he laid on Manchin to pass his fake TRILLION DOLLAR proposals (that YOU WILL PAY FOR), and you'll know what China OBiden REALLY is.

Perfect summary, OP. The discussion of the many applications of The Trump Doctrine really makes you appreciate the advantages of this approach. Such a shame that just as we were likely to begin reaping more far-reaching rewards, the rug was pulled out from under us!

Milley blundered and now CNN and WaPo hope to conceal their own part in this mess by turning on one of their own. This is the truth of Socialism. It's like being in a constant Feeding Frenzy of Sharks. As they bump and jostle to feed, they sustain small injuries. If the injuries become serious enough, the other sharks sense the weakness and attack. There is no humanity, or mercy in Socialist Elites. They constantly consume their own. The only problem, is they consume everyone else in the process
Fish have a curious quirk. They will continue to consume food, even after they are full, to deny the resources to others. Liberals are the same way. They see ALL OF US as competitors, and seek ways to eliminate their perceived threat - even to killing us in the womb.

This article HAS to be some sort of mistake. The coup attempt was on January 6 instigated by armed far right white supremacist conspiracy theorists who attacked the US Capitol Building with murder in their hearts.
Right?

I want them all shot by firing squad and conviction of treason. Milley and his conspirators violated the bedrock principles of our entire system of government and the Constitution's plain, specific language of civilian control over our military. Milley and his elitist subordinates violated every citizen's right to elect the Commander-in-Chief of our choice. I'd feel the same if they had done this under Obama.

This article, with it’s attendant plausibility, is why PDJT is NOT waiting in the wings to be “rightfully reinstalled” in the WH.
There ate too many factions who would not allow that (besides being unconstitutional), and the military certainly wouldn’t support it. We see where their loyalty lies.

Brilliantly insightful article. I agree 100% with every statement made by poster #8 above.
The military's need to be big-budget organization, spending hundreds of billions per year on armaments and technology casts a different sheen on the catastrophe of leaving $83 to $100 billion dollars worth of weapons, machinery, aircraft, and vehicles in Afghanistan upon the hopelessly stupid Biden/Milley surrender and withdrawal from that country.

Historically, when a coup takes place, military leadership is usually involved. Nobody is more brainwashed and power hungry than a rogue military fanatic. However - the recent aid to the taliban and general sympathy with muslims, hatred of Israel and white Americans has Obama written all over it. Nobody hates Whites, Christians and Jews like Barack Hussein Obama. Nothing says that he and Milley could not be working together, along with Vindham, Clinton, Jarrett, Rice, etc. Their huge mistake will turn out to be their friendship with China. Communist Chinese hate everybody.

If anyone is going to do anything about this, Milley would be a START.
I stress: A START.
We who have been Ldotters since the early days know who else should be given the outcome of the fullest extent of the law when it comes to treason. May they rot.

I note that this tempest-in-a-teapot (No-one will be punished, and Nothing will come of it) is chasing the Afghanistan disaster, the 'Technology Transfer' to the Chinese, the $30,000,000,000,000 Debt, the $4,000,000,000,000 (!) fake 'infrastructure' bill, the Border disaster, the Vaccine Hoax/Disaster, the Chinese building 300 ICBM Silos, and the Election Theft ....OFF the Front Pages, so that each of these stories can be Buried by the Media.
In the big picture, Milley is nothing. But EACH of the now-neglected stories has Long Term Consequences, none of them good.

I just got around to reading this. It is long and we know much of the headline story. But when you get past the current story of Milley and the phone calls, you get to Sundance’s detailed historical story of why the Pentagon felt they had been sidelined by President Trump, who believed in economic pressure on regional “influencers” rather than the rattling of military sabres. I haven’t finished reading yet, but am fascinated with what is presented here. This is not for drivebys, but for those who have a serious interest in understanding the deeper “whys” behind the day’s news. Context is extremely important. You’ll find it here.
