Chicago -- Chicago health officials on Thursday reported 203 cases of COVID-19 connected to Lollapalooza, casting it as a number that was anticipated and not yet linked to any hospitalizations or deaths.
“Nothing unexpected here,” Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said at a news conference. “No sign of a ‘superspreader event’. But clearly with hundreds of thousands of people attending Lollapalooza we would expect to see some cases.”
The four-day music festival, which started two weeks ago, drew about 385,000 people to a lakefront park.
Bet they say that Sturgis produces a million cases of COVIDIOT.

If my math is correct, that is less than a tenth of 1% of people who attended.

Cases.
Cases.
Cases. Always screething about the cases.
Given the accuracy standards of their 'test', I wonder how many are actually sick? And how many of them are seriously ill?
Any deaths? Deaths as a reporting 'thing', got dropped some time ago for "cases". I'm pretty sure that is because deaths are at a very low level as this virus mutates to become less deadly. Low numbers don't scare people enough....so they switched to "cases".

FTA...."No sign of a 'superspreader' event, and clearly, with hundreds of thousands of attendees, we would expect to see some cases." Now, if you have a gathering of more conservative oriented people, we'll trot out that paragon of truth, the esteemed legend (in his own mind) of science & medicine, dr. Fauci to tell us why it's a superspreader and that millions will die horrible scamdemic deaths. The only thing that could possibly save the Stugis bike crowd would be if they were 'sophisticated' like the attendees at the grifters 60th.

#2 I come up with .05%. And how many of those were really the flu or some other upper respiratory infection that throws a positive on the covid test??

Get vaxxed, wear double masks, stay in your home until we tell you you can open your door, then run for the hills like you life depends on it if you like being alive!
Oh, what's that you say, AP?
"not yet linked to any hospitalizations or deaths"?
You're liars, AP, conspiracy theorists, pushers of unsophisticated rightwing talking points, yes even MURDERERS!
Shame, SHAME, on AP.

Friends went to beach to an event. Came down with covid. Turns out they all road together for the 5 hour drive in same car and one already had it. It wasn't the beach. It wasn't the event. It was the car pool.
They were in their 20's and had symptoms for a couple days. Got better quickly.

Well if one case is too many, then 203 out of 350,000 people is a disaster. Where are the calls for Lightweight's head on a platter?

No 3 nails it. The end game of course is national mail in ballots. Watch the run-up to the mid-terms next year. They will be pimping some new variant as the next Black Death.

Since it was a mostly very young crowd, and since it was outdoors, and since it's unlikely that anyone tested is really sick, and since the accuracy of the test is at best 50%, I'd say most people getting tested were either drunk, high, or got some other illness and just assumed it was Covid because they didn't feel well. The super spreader event mindset has been planted by the media so often, that people become obsessed with the notion they have something even when they're just fine.

The real question is why thousands of people risked their lives going to Chicago in the first place. A mild case of COVID would be the least of my worries if I were to violate my life-long goal of never stepping foot in Chicago as long as I live. Airports included.

I'll bet those "sophisticated" Obama kids were there. They NEVER miss Lollapalooza where they can imitate Daddy an choke down the oversize doobies——just like Daddy! The apples don't fall far from the tree in that family.

Article assumes that all 385K were from the Chicago area. Got a feeling the majority of attendees came from other locales.
