Top US general warned of ‘Reichstag
moment’ in Trump’s turbulent last days

Original Article

Posted By: Imright, 7/14/2021 11:11:07 PM

Shortly before the deadly attack on the US Capitol on 6 January, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, Gen Mark Milley, told aides the US was facing a “Reichstag moment” because Donald Trump was preaching “the gospel of the Führer”, according to an eagerly awaited book about Trump’s last year in office. The excerpts from I Alone Can Fix This, by Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker, were reported by New York magazine on Wednesday. The authors’ employer, the Washington Post, published the first extract from the book a day earlier. It will be published next week.

"Deadly attach on the Capitol?" The only person who died, was a veteran who was killed because she broke a window. I guess it was deadly but only because of the over-reaction of the police. Yet, one officer was kind enough to hold the door for a woman ultimately prosecuted for trespass. GO FIGURE. The democrats are sick, a very sick group of people.

"the deadly attack on the US Capitol on 6 January," Yet another excuse to hammer the narrative catch phrase. The Brits' most Leftist rag barfs another bit of propaganda. The Right's people got rowdy, broke a few windows, entered a few spaces they weren't supposed to, and threw a fire extinguisher at one of the cops. A different cop in a different place murdered an unarmed protester. So let's call it a "deadly riot" a million times, until readers have a hard time distinguishing between it and the summer-long Antifa/BLM riots (which burned, looted, assaulted, and murdered quite a few more). What Leftist rags like Guardian are won't pass the profanity filter...

As a STEM graduate myself we always looked down on these types as soft, degree mill type majors unless it's a pre-professional program. The lengths these leftists will go to in an attempt to drive home their ludicrous Trump is Hitler trope is amazing. That a US general would have so little knowledge of history is scary to say the least. Hitler did indeed yake absolute power after the Reichstag fire but here is how they did it. The nazi party used political fringe groups to set the fire. The Reichstag burned down. Immediately after the fire the Nazis started disinformation campaign blaming the fire on subversive elements in the opposition parties. They used the existence of these subversive opposition party operatives to paint the entire opposition as dangerous domestic terrorists. Once that lie had been made into the "truth" Hitler used his political position to begin massive imprisonment of political opponents. No real investigation into the actual fire was ever allowed. Dachau opened in 1933 and was the primary destination of political adversarys. The "fact" that these were terrorists allowed the suspension of their civil rights and the prison guard was populated with violent thugs who were rewarded for their brutality. Protesting the treatment of these prisoners was often all the proof required to label one as a sympathizer and would be followed by arrest and interment in Dachau. After you had been beaten into submission you might be released to spread the fear and terror of that late night knock on the door. Once the people who opposed such tyrannical behaviour had been cowed into silence by the very real fear that their lives would be destrpyed if they spoke up the Nazis took complete control and destroyed most of Europe. Sound familiar? Hint, it was not Trump whp benefited from the Reichstag insurrection. Another thing to remember, Hitler never had majority support of the people, at the time that he took complete control in Germany the Nazi party was a a minority party (something like 30%) in the government. They attained power by dividing the people along racial lines. What they lacked in numbers they made up for with political terror.

Look at the photographs of General Eisenhower who was at the top of the Allied chain of command that won the Second World War in Europe and you will see that he never wore over two or three rows of ribbons on his Ike jacket at the end of that world war. Now look at today’s politicized Generals who never won a war, and it is not uncommon to see them wearing eight to ten rows of ribbons and other devices on their uniforms. What does that tell you? In the case of Milley, obviously someone is trying to get rid of him by “leaking” his very inappropriate and insubordinate comments and deductions about the President who was at the time the Constitutional Commander in Chief of the US Military. Milley should either resign his commission or retire, as half the country will not have any confidence in his abilities as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in keeping with the traditions of the US Army and the US Military as a whole in the future.

Re #30, sorry but your information is incorrect. I saw the very first unedited video of Ashli Babbitt on January 6. A tiny woman, she was circulating around the men who were in front of those glass-paned doors to the Speaker’s Lobby. She finally got a tall man to boost her on to his back, lifting her up so that she could look through the open upper part of a broken gllass pane. One witness said she wanted to put her cell phone through it, presumably to take a picture. Immediately a man erupted from a hallway door to the left, gun drawn, and he shot her. She was doing absolutely nothing that would threaten anyone. Because she was still in the hallway on the man’s back, her body pitched straight backward to the hallway floor. The glass panes were broken by men, using various items to ram them. I saw that, too.

Perhaps it’s because I grew up surrounded by extraordinarily tough people, but I found myself singularly unmoved by the spectacle in the House on Tuesday, which reminded me of a bad mash-up of Dr. Phil, Oprah, and BLM-produced soap opera, rather than a legitimate inquiry into an event that Democrats have seized upon to consolidate their power by destroying their opposition. As sobbing congressmen and Capitol Police officers took turns talking about their psychic injuries, I was alternately embarrassed for them if they were really that weak, and frightened of them if they were that sociopathic as a pathway to power.

Simone Biles, the main reason anyone wants to watch the Olympics, given her thrilling artistic gymnastics, has pulled out of the U.S. team events, and since then, even the individual all-around event, citing her mental health (snip) Certain people on the right, who shall be nameless, criticized her as a "quitter." Others said she was too self-focused, and still others said she was a wokester or snowflake. But that's not fair to her, given that she wanted to win. Her decision was practical and quite selfless in that in pulling out she gave the rest of her team the placement to win the silver

When it comes to political and social demonstrations during the Tokyo Olympics, 2021 is the year of women. Female athletes have attracted the spotlight on the international stage by championing racial equality and taking ownership of what they wear during competitions. "Historically, we've seen the role of patriarchy sort of supersede ... the voices, lived experiences of girls and women on the Olympic stage," said Akilah Carter-Francique, executive director of the Institute for the Study of Sport, Society and Social Change at San Jose State University. "What we're seeing now is an acknowledgment of their value in their perspective on many

My TV has been broken for over a year (OK, maybe I don’t know how to work the remote) but I watched a little of the Olympics at a friend’s house this week. I learned something from the advertisements. I learned that most people in this country are black, and all of the good ones are. Blacks, who comprise about 13% of the U.S. population, comprise most of the actors in the advertisements. Aliens in faraway worlds receiving television signals from earth are apt to conclude that the most powerful culture on Earth is run by good black people.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky suggested that vaccine passport-style systems might be implemented in the United States amid the COVID-19 pandemic. When asked in a TV interview Wednesday about whether the United States would mandate a European-style “health pass” system for nightclubs or bars, Walensky said, “That may very well be a path forward.” The director further said that “in some fully vaccinated venues,” it “is possible” for a fully vaccinated individual to transmit and pick up COVID-19 “in those settings” and added that federal officials have “seen that” during studies. Her comments came after the CDC announced Tuesday it would recommend people wear masks
