SAN FRANCISCO -- According to the California Retailer's Association three cities in our state are among the top 10 in the country when it comes to organized retail crime--Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento. Already we are seeing the negative impact it is having in San Francisco with stores permanently shutting down or closing early. It has become one of the most pressing issues in our city today. Target has now acknowledged that San Francisco is the only city in America where they have decided to close some stores early because of the escalating retail crime. For more than a month

According to video the city is doing almost nothing to deter the shoplifting rings.

And if these stores are in black areas, we'll soon hear cries of racism because they are closing stores and people will have to drive miles and miles to get their prescriptions filled. Remember Watts?

If the cities condone theft, what choice do the retailers have? They are not in business to go out of business.

Can see these stores being closed to the public, people place their orders, pay by credit card, and receive their orders through a slot/opening in an iron door. All windows bricked up.

Poster #3, that will work for a short time until the bad guys start mugging those coming to pick up their orders. I think we'll soon start to see home delivery only. Most stores now have that available.

When you pass ordinances that allow $1000 worth of theft with no consequence, this is the natural result. Nothing the cops can do about it, and the retailers are not going to pay daily reparations to the parasite class.

That is abysmally stupid. Stealing is stealing is WRONG, whether you do it for "organized crime resales" or for yourself. So these buffoons are going to try to differentiate a "good" crime from a "bad" crime. Liberals...

"That's where San Francisco Supervisor Ahsha Safai has stepped in." Is this guy that stupid? All he has to do is look at who the DA is (Chesa Boudin) and the fact that his own city council raised the theft threshold to $950, and he'll have the answer. Hey, it's their problem, not mine. What it does point out though is the quality of candidates running for office in all these cities, and they get elected. Once elected, they don't know what's up and what's down. We are in big trouble!

Remember both Harris and Pelosi represent San Francisco in the Congress and the ongoing lawlessness in San Francisco is not of any known concern to them. After all that’s where a lot of leftist and socialist voters reside and neither Harris or Pelosi are about to mess with them, as one day they could be shoplifters and thieves and the next day be voting for Harris and Pelosi. In time what starts in California generally moves across the country, so get ready.

#5, Actually it’s much worse than San Francisco passing an ordinance that makes thefts less than $1,000 a misdemeanor. It was the entire state that did so several years ago through a voter initiative. There were many soft-on-crime provisions, such as early release, included. It was advertised as criminal justice reform. I, along with those with a brain, voted against it but we were outnumbered by the brain dead. I’m not sure whether San Francisco or any other location could lower the amount for a felony.

I have a simple suggestion...Doors that can be LOCKED between doors, so the thieves can't leave is a good start. Call the Cops and the Perps will be waiting...with the stolen merchandise. Make sure the doors have notifications that any unpaid merchandise that goes through the first door is considered stolen...

No need to even arrest these thieves anymore since they will be released and the charges dropped even if they had two thousand bucks worth of stolen goods. The left wants to encourage the poor, oppressed criminals to steal what they want. If I was a cop I would look the other way. No need to get into some confrontation that turns violent and the thief is injured or killed. Then the cop goes to prison. I can't imagine a worse job than to be in law enforcement in one of these violent, 'woke' cities.

I wouldn't fret about Walgreens. They raised the price of everything in other stores fifty cents or more to make up for it. They paid BLM millions, rebuilt stores that had been looted in some cities. I called to remind them how many white old people get scripts filled in their stores and perhaps were discriminated against.
