Hammer thrower Gwen Berry has defended turning her back on the US flag during the national anthem at the US Olympic trials, writing on Instagram 'I meant what I said. Period,' after being inundated with backlash online. Berry, 31, was on the podium at the trials in Oregon on Sunday when the anthem started playing. Her white competitors, DeAnna Price and Brooke Andersen, turned to face the flag and placed their hands on their hearts but Berry, a vocal BLM activist, turned to face the stands, put her hands on her hips and then held up a t-shirt bearing the words 'athlete activist'. Don't watch except to note advertisers and then send messages to the network and advertisers of anger and your non-watch commitment. Then do not watch the Olympics at all. Nothing else will matter. Start exercising - ride your own bike - take your own walks - maybe even sell your TV and couch. As in, get your own life back. When networks and advertisers realize there is no one watching or buying stuff and find out that product endorsement isn't worth the investment, then just maybe we'll have athletes who actually represent our nation and its values.

Gwen Berry was the second loser in the Hammer Throw. She acted like a spoiled child by putting her shirt over her head to protest. Parents wouldn't tolerated such behavior from a young child. This is the Adult Olympics. Act like an adult! Stop being an entitled, spoiled child, suck it up, and stand there like an adult. I wish someone more deserving and appreciative could be chosen to take her place on the team. She is a poor representative of the USA.

Let's just end the charade of nationalism by making the Olympics open competition...no, well, that would destroy them. These aren't some poor amateurs eating beans 'n franks to play their game...these are professional athletes AMERICAN TAXPAYERS are supporting with subsidies and reward money for medals. The days of medal propaganda are over. The Cold War ended long ago. Time to get over it. Let these athletes fund themselves and end the opportunity for them to embarrass the USA on the world stage.

McALLEN, Texas—House Republicans want to make immigration a centerpiece of the 2022 midterms. They can’t do that without fully embracing Donald Trump — a reunion that they sealed on Wednesday. The group of roughly two dozen GOP lawmakers got outsized attention for their trip to this border town simply because it was a precursor to Trump’s own visit. And Republicans soaked up that notice, with two immigration hard-liners even walking alongside migrants seeking asylum. Gov. Vogue, the world's fashion bible, has placed Jill Biden on her cover as the epitome of fashion. She's a "goddess," they explain. Which is a stretch, given that the first lady has sported getups like this loud red zebra print dress, or these huge-print patterned pantyhose worn with elfin spike heel ankle boots. It goes to show that its whole schtick is politics, not fashion. After all, the big fashion bible for the world's stylish somehow managed to overlook the nation's truly stylish first lady, Melania Trump, a former super-model, who not only was quite beautiful, but age-appropriate and elegant in her four years as first lady.
