A number of retail chains announced last week they are not requiring fully vaccinated customers to wears masks in their stores. Not everyone was happy to hear the liberating news, though. Our country, once a bulwark of the strong and daring, is becoming a land of the fainthearted.
Minutes after The Hill tweeted Friday that Trader Joe’s was no longer demanding that its customers self-suffocate, at least those who’ve been fully vaccinated, the scolds and skittish school marms took their shots before running to hide under their beds.
“Not good,” said one, without explaining why it’s not good.

Was in the Tampa area this weekend. Most places had big signs requiring masks. I didn't wear one the entire weekend, and wasn't asked to put one on. There was still 15% of the Sheep still wearing masks, some even on the beach...

Wear one forever, never wear one again. Take the shot, don't take the shot. What you plan on doing should be your decision with apologies to no one. Freedom is a wonderful thing. This discussion is bordering on insanity. If some of my favorite stores do not set us free I will be looking for new places to shop. "Masks Today, Masks Tomorrow, Masks Forever" Watched Hunger Games Series yesterday and that quote reminded when Katniss parrots the dystopian government. "Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem Forever" Maybe we need to take a hint from MLK with civil disobedience. Not wearing a mask would certainly qualify as a peaceful form of political protest. I have had enough of this nonsense.

As I posted yesterday, I do not wear a mask because the government mandated me too. Before Covid, I was diagnosed with cancer and had thought about wearing a mask out in public and I now continue to wear a mask. Not because of Covid but because of prevention.

Masks are here to stay. Not because they will be mandated forever but because fear is not a light one can switch off. The Japanese have worn masks in public for over a decade following their own bout with a respiratory epidemic. Some will stay afraid. Others will not. And still others stopped already because of anger.

One advantage is that I can easily identify crazy people.
Driving alone in a car wearing a mask....crazy.
Outdoors at the park wearing a mask....crazy.
Yelling at fellow shoppers that they need to wear a mask....crazy and revealing that they don't trust their mask or their vaccine...it is all about control.

People willfully ignore the fact that masks don't stop a virus. They have been told many times. Also, masks don't seal on the face, Remember video of people wearing masks somewhere up north, where it was cold, and their breath could be seen escaping around the fringes of their masks, and through the mask when talking?
Maybe the lab workers in Wuhan just wore masks, instead of the Bio suits designed to protect them?
Masks are now a political statement (except for people who must wear one for legitimate reasons.)

Exactly #7, I don't wear a mask in my car or outside. I wear a mask because sometimes in talking to people, spit can happen. Spit travels and need I say anymore. . .

About 40% of the people at church Sunday had no mask. Our priest (who has hated them) didn't have one either. The president of the university where I work said if we were vaccinated we didn't have to wear masks. So I didn't, Most of the places I shop have lifted the mask mandate. I feel free!

In my state the mask mandate officially ended May 9th and now the CDC has relaxed its "guidance" and still EVERY business I entered over the weekend had "Masks Required to Enter" signs up.

I've been mask free for several weeks now. It saddens me to see how many theoretically "normal sane people" are still wearing these stupid, worthless talismans of fear.

If a store posts “masks required “ I wear one. Their store, their rule and I can also go elsewhere. However, yesterday I went to our local Food Lion and they had taken down the sign. The staff was still masked but I would guess 90% of the shoppers were maskless. The cases are dropping like a rock and people have had it with face coverings.

So how do they know you are telling the truth about being vaccinated? Do you have to show your card? Is this not giving out private medical information to waitresses or furniture salesmen? Does this not sound like "show me your papers" to anyone else? And how many people in the past two generations even know what that references. I won't wear a mask and won't get the shot. So far nothing has been denied me. So far....
