House Republicans approved Rep. Elise Stefanik to their No. 3 leadership position Friday — officially voting her into the post after Rep. Liz Cheney was forced out this week. The 134-46 tally for Stefanik (R-NY) was nearly guaranteed before the vote took place, given that she went into the meeting with former President Donald Trump’s endorsement and without a serious challenger. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) had launched a bid, but it failed to gain traction. Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.), who serves as vice chair of the House GOP Conference, was also reportedly interested in the role,

Ding-Don the witch is dead! Good luck Elise Stefanik I hope you give the democRATs a really hard time - wreck the house and make sure you show the home town folks that the moderates democRATs they've been voting for are anything but moderate so we can switch those seats.

Liz Cheney and Romney can leave the Republican Party and go and form another party. Call it the Spite Party.

Beware of Stefanik. She’s not as conservative as you think. Look up her voting record.

Yes #8. You are correct. A solid and consistent conservative Mr McCarthy was never going to offer up for a leadership position.
I think of that scene in Kindergarten Cop when Mr. Kimball shows up posing as a kindergarten teacher. The lady principal’s final words as she turns over the class to him — “I’ll be watching you.” Exactly how I feel about our new Conference Chair. Sorry but the Republican leaders richly deserve the skepticism!!

OK now we will find out how much of the globalist Kool-Aid she's been drinking. Sounds good, but then again, at one time I was fooled by Paul Ryan, too.
At this point....I'll wait and watch.

Well that proves that the Republican Party is not as tolerant as they claim to be. Agree or disagree with Cheney’s views she should have the right to express them without fear and not be run over for them. I think the Republican leadership needs to get over their fear of what trump might say about someone who disagrees with him.

What a refreshing change this is going to be. Liz can just go back to laying down by her dish in Wyoming, again (if she can find it).

She may have been endorsed by President Trump, but I get the feeling that she is a wobbly and potential RINO wannabe. I hope I'm wrong.

Since when has Liz Cheney been denied the right to her opinion, #11? She has been expressing her hate and lies against Trump since the election was stolen. She held a leadership position in the House Republican caucus. Her position on Trump is highly unpopular with Republican voters as well as her own constituents. Obviously she lost any effectiveness so she had to be booted out of her leadership position. If she had any honor she would have resigned months ago. She is scum so she didn’t.

What a horrible mistake. Liz Cheney let herself be guided more by personality than policy, and that is damaging to the Republican Party. Removing Cheney from the leadership position also provided a great opportunity to put a conservative in place. Yes, Stefanik supported President Trump in House committee hearings, but her voting record is closer to the Democrats than conservative. The position of House Republican Conference Chair "is responsible for electing the House Republican leadership, approving GOP Member committee assignments, managing leadership-driven floor debates, and executing a communications strategy that is executed within the party and is conveyed to constituents through the media." This raises concerns that we'll see more Democrat-lite policy direction rather than conservative.

Watch as she will soon start appearing on CNN and MSBC with her TDS. Showing her true colors as a Swamp RINO creature.

Politics is the art of the possible. (I think LBJ said that.
The downside of being a 'staunch conservative' is that you forget LBJ's quote, and things don't get done.
Stefanik is a NYS congresswoman, who understands the voting path she has to follow, to retain her seat. Enormous amounts of outside money are used against her, and she thrives and survives, in spite of that.
She is a clever politician, and will serve well in her leadership position.
I place her as equal to Marsha Blackburn.

I think some of us are just tired of getting played. I get it; she supported Trump, but does she support US? If she does, great. Politicians on all levels have squandered my trust; I trust none of them anymore. They picked a girl to replace a girl; that's suspect right there.

Why do I get the feeling that the GOP is not going to change. They are still allowing Democrats to take on state and local positions without any fight back.
