The criminal hacking group that took down Colonial Pipeline, causing debilitating fuel shortages on the East Coast, has said in a message that it is shutting down after facing pressure from the U.S. government. “In view of the above and due to the pressure from the US, the affiliate program is closed. Stay safe and good luck,” the group said in a message sent Thursday to partners in its ransomware business, according to a blog post by Intel471, a cybercrime intelligence firm.
But some security experts warned the group may just be trying to take its money and run,

And back to Langley they go to celebrate their latest victory. Curious coincidence: the Pentagon has a ridiculous "JEDI" defense cloud system in the news, and here's "DarkSide," using another Star Wars referent. Doubly odd that a group of so-called Russian hackers would use an American movie franchise as the code name.

Back to their regular White house duties: spying on and doxing Trump supporters, and rounding up and stashing bribes from less obvious activities.

This gas shortage was growing into a major political problem for the Biden-Harris Administration so don’t be surprised if the Biden crew told Colonial Pipeline to pay the $5 million ransom and that they would be reimbursed by the US Government. The media is claiming that the so-called DarkSide Group operates out of Russia, but at this stage they might be operating anywhere out of the West Coast. One thing is for sure, after the smoke clears they will be back with another name,, hacking some other entity, and demanding a much larger ransom, that’s just human nature.

Of course. They know they are being hunted down. Will be tough for them to retrieve their bitcoin without being shot on sight.

If the rumors are true, and they hit a massive payday -- $5,000,000 -- for this pipeline terrorism, then I guess they can just go party for awhile.
Somebody needs to put a $10,000,000 bounty on their heads. Make them look over their shoulders and not get any sleep for the rest of their lives. This sort of evil needs to be exterminated!!!!

Their business model is all wrong. Should be a rotating release code at 3 million a month. Hell, just add it to the price of gas, maybe 10 cents a gallon. Not like the government cares, a Trillion here a Trillion there.

If they are Russian and hacking American interests, they are probably safe. Should they hack a Russian company or government organization it would be a big mistake. Vlad will make them disappear forever.

Of course they are. When a tool has served its purpose, it can then be tossed away. I have believed this a manufactured crisis from the start. A deliberate crisis. the CIA probably hired these guys to hack in. But who even knows if that is true?
