It is becoming clearer each day that the global imposition of lockdowns in the name of fighting COVID-19 has been one of the greatest political, economic, and social blunders of the decade, and perhaps even the century. Yet many leaders across the world continue to mandate existing lockdowns and even impose new ones in vain attempts to curb the spread of COVID in their populations.Originally opposed as an ineffective measure by nearly every epidemiologist worldwide, leaders across the globe followed, in monkey-see, monkey-do fashion, the example of China when it locked down the city of Wuhan and a few nearby areas.

A new type of the color white, said to be the whitest white color ever created, can be used to cool houses to reduce the need for air conditioning, according a new study published by Purdue University. This new white paint can reflect 98.1% of sunlight, a rise from the previous record of 95.5%, which allows it to send infrared heat away from the surface it is coating. To measure how well the color helps cool down its environment, they used thermocouples – a high accuracy temperature reading device, which found that the surface with the paint was about seven degrees Celsius colder than its surroundings during the night,

The Biden administration will protect gay and transgender people against discrimination in health care. The decision, carried out by the Department of Health and Human Services, was announced on Monday. It’s a reversal from Trump administration’s policy, which defined “sex” as gender assigned at birth, thus excluding transgender people from the protections the law provides.“Fear of discrimination can lead individuals to forgo care, which can have serious negative health consequences,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a statement. “Everyone — including LGBTQ people — should be able to access health care, free from discrimination or interference, period.”

If wokeness should continue and “win,” by now we all know where it will end up. After all, this is not a prairie-fire, peasants-with-pitchforks, spontaneous bottom-up revolution. The woke Left seeks a top-down erasure of America, engineered by the likes of LeBron James from his $40 million estate talking revolution to Oprah at her $90 million castle, as Mark Zuckerberg throws in $500 million here, and his colleagues $400 million there, and as the top executives of Coke, Target, and Delta Airlines believe their $17 million-a-year salaries make them experts on the crimes of non-diversity, exclusion, and inequity. Anytime revolutionaries at the outset of their enterprises seek exemption from

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House issued Mother's Day messages on Sunday as some progressives crusading against gendered terms elect to use the term "birthing people" instead."Our mothers are our Guardian Angels, and we carry them always in our hearts, whether or not we are blessed to have them with us," Pelosi, D-Calif., wrote on Sunday. "Happy Mother's Day to you and your family."
