Republican Rep. Liz Cheney is out as Republican conference chair in the House of Representatives. The story has dominated American news outlets over the past week. Most Americans are probably hard-pressed to care about the story, but to the political press in the United States, the story has mattered deeply. This past Tuesday night, as rockets rained down on Tel Aviv from Gaza, the press was focused on Cheney’s pending ouster, which happened Wednesday morning. On Wednesday afternoon, while President Joe Biden was holding a press conference about the Colonial Pipeline shutdown, MSNBC was holding a panel discussion about Cheney and the future of the Republican Party.

Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL), a candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama, joined SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday, where he discussed President Joe Biden’s agenda and policies, saying he has potentially had “the worst 100 days of any president in the history of the United States.” On President Biden’s agenda and job performance, Brooks said the administration operates in an “alternate reality.”“In a general sense, the Biden Administration is operating in an alternate reality,” Brooks said.“They are not in the same reality you and I are in, or that the rest of American citizens are in. It’s almost like Alice in Wonderland looking through the looking glass.”

The From the Desk of Donald J. Trump webpage where the former president has been posting statements was down on Saturday after he asserted that the entire Maricopa County ballot database has been deleted. His statement also alleged massive fraud in the form of “broken seals on boxes, ballots missing, and worse.”It is currently unclear if the website being down was due to an attack or just an overloaded server from all the traffic attempting to go to it. His main website was still functioning, but attempting to go to the page where he posts statements was generating an error message.

Liz Cheney has claimed some Republicans voted against impeaching Donald Trump because they were 'afraid for their lives' as she admitted she regrets voting for him in the 2020 election and warned he poses an 'ongoing danger' to America.Cheney told CNN's Jake Tapper Friday that several GOP members of Congress told her they feared for their safety in the lead-up to February's vote to impeach Trump for inciting the January 6 Capitol riot. The Wyoming Representative said she believes some fell in line with the wider party because of these concerns and insisted more lawmakers were in favor of his impeachment 'than are willing to say so'.

Brazen gunslingers are shooting the daylights out of the Big Apple. After a shocking execution in Park Slope and last Saturday afternoon’s shooting spree in Times Square, The Post requested crime data to see if the impression that criminals have become bolder in broad daylight is true. Sadly, it appears so. As of April 25, the NYPD recorded 374 shootings this year — and 119, or 32 percent, occurred between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. During the same period last year there were 213 shootings — with 63, or 30 percent, happening in daylight.

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) stated that there has been a nearly “800% increase April over April” in the amount of fentanyl coming across the border apprehended by the Texas Department of Public Safety. And that there has been enough fentanyl obtained to kill everyone in New York.Abbott said, “I’ve got to tell you, Steve, there’s something else, a new dynamic about what’s going on at the border that Americans need to know about, and that is the increased apprehension of fentanyl coming across the border. Yes, there may be people coming across the border.
