The U.S. Postal Service admitted during a Wednesday meeting to spying on citizens with its law enforcement arm, claiming it worked with other agencies to track Americans' social media posts.
Chief Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale briefed lawmakers on the Oversight Committee regarding the program known as iCOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, but could not provide a date for when it was initiated.
'The Chief Postal Inspector was wildly unprepared for this briefing,' GOP Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina told DailyMail.com following the meeting with Barksdale.

There is no legitimate purpose for the USPS to spy on private citizens. All it was founded for was to deliver mail and packages. How and why does this agency have the apparatus to do such a thing?

It's time to put an end to this postal spying so they can get back to delivering our bills and birthday cards on time.

Just curious to know if the gals and guys who are actually doing the spying ever have a twinge of conscience when they do things they know is directly in opposition to our rights under the Constitution. Does it give them pause? Do they voice concern? Are they all so willing to keep their jobs that they will do anything ordered of them? I have not been in such a position but I would hope that I would stand up for what is right. Clearly, the government must be filled with people who will do anything to retain their positions or maybe they are as committed to this lawlessness as the ones are who give them their orders.
Hannity used to say that 99% of FBI employees are upstanding Patriots. It appears that Sean greatly overstated that number by about 90%. Another lie that sticks in my craw is the one told by Mark Levine, Hannity and others who promised us that Joe DeGenova and Victoria Toensing were to be trusted when they said Bill Barr was a good guy. How’d that turn out? Sorry for chasing that particular rabbit but I seriously doubt there are more than a few good solid Patriots serving in the government. With everything happening today, it is almost a given that the government as it stands is as corrupt as it can get. Plus, they are failing to even hide it anymore because so great is their confidence of the control they have.

Over the Winter we had so much mail delayed and misdirected we were constantly delivering others mail. We called and they said it was staffing issues due to China virus. Now we know they were busy hacking social media.

In Sharyl Atkkisson's 2014 book, Stonewalled, she mentions people who informed her that the government is spying on people. The government even has the ability to hack people's cars and cause people to have accidents.

#5, postal workers are just like all of their fellow government employees. They don’t have to work very hard, they aren’t held accountable and they get great pay, health insurance and pensions. Plus, probably 95% of them are demonrats. They want to hold onto their sinecure positions AND they are committed to this lawlessness.

I treat the USPS the same as I do Coca Cola and the NFL. Dead to me. If they were not subsidized by the people they are spying on, they would be dead to all of us.

Is Lois Lerner in charge of this operation... sounds fishy... Greg Kelly's letter writing campaign must have spooked the post office...opening letters sent by citizens is a desperate measure for the lefties....they must be in trouble... no worries... I send my bills through the mail and cards to family members... but large packages go through Fedex and USP...never trust the government is my motto...I spent hours on the phone with the IRS trying to tell them the unemployment amount of $600 a month is NOT mine and someone is pocketing taxpayer's money through my name...I spoke to recorded machines for a long time trying to stop this illegal funding going to someone who is not qualified for this money...another waste of our money....and... since lying biden has been in charge (?)... my mailbox has been broken into several times.. looking for something postal dudes?

Government spying on citizens and openly admitting it. Where is the outrage? Which morality will they choose to judge their screening process? Will they abide by the new Pope in the whitehouse. Render to Caesar what is Caesar s.

It’s only part of the picture. Check out the USPS “Informed Delivery” at their website. They can image every piece of your mail, ostensibly to alert you by email as to what’s coming to your snail mailbox. It makes one wonder where else those image files go, how long they are kept and which other agencies are “reviewing” them. Just sayin’.

In my little village of 2,000 in Ohio, we've had months of very-late mail, mis-delivered mail,
and missing mail. Maybe the USPS should concentrate on effective delivery of mail, and leave the spying to someone else...

#5 ,the Stasi never did, apparently.
The one thing that I never fully understood was when the Wall came down, Stasi files were opened and people discovered who was spying, and knew who the Stasi agents were. In many cases people were sent to prison for decades or died because of Stasi work, and yet I never heard of any Stasi agents coming to harm at the hands of those that they harmed or their relatives after it was over. I am surprised how little people reacted to their lives being ruined, and even when they could respond, they didn't.

Don’t get excited, its the post office. These ARE the same people who can’t compete with FedEx or UPS.
Whoever put these folks up to spying had no intention of getting any useful information. Its just a make work program for surplus postal employees that can’t be laid off. They get an office to play around on social media all day and call it work. Its better than having them standing them around where the public can see them doing nothing and demoralizing the remaining employees who already feel overpaid for what they do.
A better use of surplus postal employees is to use them to patrol inner city crime hotspots and hand out complementary stamps and souvenir election ballots recovered from postal trash bins.
