Mexican crime cartels, never seeing the U.S. border so inviting as it has been under President Joe Biden, are openly driving to the border with tractor trailers full of illegal immigrants and drugs to unload their cargo, according to a new report.
For the first time, 18-wheelers are stopping at the Rio Grande to dump their cargo in the poorly defended Big Bend areas of West Texas as cartels shop for new crossing points.
“It’s never been this busy,” one agent told Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies. He has been on the border charting the impact of Biden’s border-opening policies, dubbed “la invitacion” by illegal immigrants.

Looks like it's not just mansions for smooth operator Patrisse Cullors, who co-founded Black Lives Matter.
She's also into stretches at luxury resorts, with some very curious accounting.
According to an investigative report from the Daily Caller:
Los Angeles-based jail reform group led by BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors spent nearly $26,000 for “meetings” at a luxury Malibu beach resort in 2019, according to campaign finance records reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Reform LA Jails dropped $10,179 for “meetings and appearances” at the Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club in Malibu, California,

The Biden administration is loud and insistent that its dinner-triangle policies have nothing to do with the migrant surge rolling through our southern border. Never mind what the President of Mexico says, Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris, are adamant.
"The truth is, nothing has changed," Biden told the nation in a national address. Explaining the surge, Biden claimed: "I'd like to think it's because I'm a nice guy, but it's not." He insisted that the surgers were just seasonal surgers, nothing to do with his recission of President Trump's migration treaties with Mexico and Central America, nor his

The Ohio police officer who shot to death a black teenage girl in a disturbing encounter with a knife appears to be a military-trained marksman specializing in firing an assault rifle, according to a report Wednesday.
Columbus police officer Nicholas Reardon — who was placed on paid leave after fatally shooting 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant Tuesday — is a U.S. Air National Guardsman who received an expert marksman badge with a M4 Carbine rifle, according to the Daily Beast.
Reardon, who joined the department in 2019, is also the son of Air Force veteran and retired Columbus Division of Police

Sometimes, you gotta just stop to rubberneck the trainwreck.
So it goes with the Los Angeles Times expose of an e-mail exchange between members of the scandal-filled Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which is that tiny long-standing group of press characters who award the Golden Globes.
One of them, a former eight-time president of guild, Philip Berk, sent out an expose to the group of a Frontline Magazine piece exposing the Hollywood money-making of Black Lives Matter elites. According to the Times:
An email sent Sunday by a former Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. president criticizing Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors and likening BLM to a hate group

Remember Pauline Kael? She's the famous Manhattan film critic who apocryphally said that she couldn't understand how anyone could vote to re-elect President Nixon in 1972, because she didn't know anyone. (Actually -- she did know one, but lost track of him.) She "lived in a rather special world," as she put it.
Well, the New York Times still lives there, and appears to like being mired in the same Mr. Magooism.
Latest nonsense from those heights comes from a big data-journalism-driven piece with three bylines and four contributors on vaccine hesitancy around the U.S., concluding that it's all those troglodytes who voted for President Trump

Joe Biden is getting pathetic.
He's flapping in the breeze on the border crisis, flipping and flopping on whether the record number of illegal migrants surging our border amounts to a crisis, and shifting his stance on how many refugees he plans to force on America, like it or not.
According to John Solomon's JustTheNews:
President Biden on Saturday called the historic border surge a “crisis” for the first time, even as he pushed ahead with plans to increase the caps for refugees admitted into the United States.
”We’re going to increase the number [of refugees]," he said at a news conference.

It's a 46-second video that people can't stop watching: (Snip for tweet) A man in a placid, sylvan, subdivision of suburbia, in this case Burgaw, North Carolina, population 3,872, near Wilmington, was saying 'good morning' to a passing jogger, and carrying a car cup and a plastic disposable plate of brownies orobably for his workplace over to his SUV. He remarks to himself that he needs to wash his car as he begins to load it. His name is Happy, his wife's name is Kristi, she's bringing out a cat carrier with a cat in it for a trip to the vet, and they are the Wades, getting ready to

What's doing in socialist hellhole Venezuela these days?
Bloomberg has a credible story about how its bond market is going, beginning with this lovely headline:
In Venezuela Bond Market, Gunmen and Bags of Cash Are Required
...and lede:
In what is perhaps the tiniest and almost certainly the most primitive bond market in the world, default isn’t the greatest risk that investors face.
Mugging is.
This market can be found in Caracas, Venezuela, where the socialist government of President Nicolas Maduro is ever so slowly freeing up the battered economy to allow the kinds of capitalist ventures it had long banned. As part of the overhaul, the U.S. dollar is now the de facto currency

As the border crisis gets bigger and bigger, the Biden administration is running out of ideas.
Latest weather balloon to be floated around is the possibility of U.S. taxpayer checks to pay would-be illegals in Central America to stay home.
According to a report from Reuters:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The United States is considering a conditional cash transfer program to help address economic woes that lead migrants from certain Central American countries to trek north, as well as sending COVID-19 vaccines to those countries, a senior White House official told Reuters on Friday.

So where's Kamala Harris, Joe Biden's border crisis project manager?
Looks like she's in Chicago, getting "a snack," according to White House spokesweasel Jen Psaki.
Such is the simplified summary of the state of things, based on a snapping, flippant reply by the latter to a question from a New York Post reporter. According to the Daily Mail:
New York Post reporter Steven Nelson acknowledged during Wednesday's press briefing: 'As we discussed here today, Vice President Harris is put in charge of addressing the root causes of the border crisis.'
'She hasn't visited the border or Central America or spoken with leaders of El Salvador or Honduras,' he noted.

President Trump tried to make a big deal about Joe Biden's plan to federally mandate cheap apartments with low-income residents into suburban single-family zones. The claim was it would achieve "equality." The unstated plan was "more Democrat voters."
Trump warned of it as a scheme to end the suburbs, and it turns out he was right. Biden's $3.2 trillion infrastructure plan sneaks that leftist dream scheme into its thousands of pages of legislation, instead of lets the bad idea die on its own through a true congressional vote.
The New York Post's Betsy McCaughey warned in 2020 that the whole scheme was 'disastrous.'
