n the debate over whether one should or should not get the COVID vaccination, much has been said about the “science.” However, I’m not sure any encyclopedic knowledge of “science” is required to make this health decision. Simple statistical analysis should suffice to inform one’s ultimate decision.
Statistics is primarily a study of probabilities. Fortunately, as regards COVID mortality rates, these probabilities are now known. That is, COVID mortality statistics broken down by age cohorts are now “known knowables.”
For example, through statistics as of April 7, the odds an American under the age of 25 would die from COVID were 1-in-106,217.
I am in a category where I deem the risk from the vaccine and the risk from Covid are a wash. However, every time I look in to getting the vaccine there are a bunch of hoops I need to jump through. I am not sure what the current extent is, but at a minimum I need to sign up with some organization (whether that is Walmart, or some health organization) and my health insurance carrier has assured me that they will keep a record of my vaccine status. Both of those things put me off of getting the vaccine. My health insurer does not maintain a database of the other vaccines I have gotten, why this one?

The writer needed to compare the side effects, not just chance of death, from getting Covid vs the vaccine. I personally know of a person who seemed to have no underlying conditions and died at age 65. My husband has a coworker, age 62, who is now recovering from Covid. It's been a month of being very very sick. He lost 20 lbs and he was a tall thin guy to start with. I know of very young people who lost their taste of sense and smell and haven't gotten it back. It's been more than 6 months. And the reproductive side effects that are rumored are mostly in people who actually got Covid.

Getting my first shot today. Wish me luck. Normally wouldn't bother with this stuff, but friends and family want me to get it. Also suspect it will be need for air travel. They say 200 million people have been vaccinated in the US. Don't know how many worldwide. If there was something seriously wrong, we would see it by now. The problems reported haven't been that many, and the risks are likely smaller than the risks we take in everyday life.

I made the difficult decision to take the shots (Moderna) in March. At age 68, I was reluctant to go ahead with it especially after reviewing the videos by Dr. Tenpenney. Having a history of chest viruses, bronchitis, and allergies, my lungs are my weak point, and I concluded that the risk of side effects from the shots would be a risk I would have to take. So far, so good. But, if that cretin Fauci or anybody starts chirping that booster shots will now be necessary going forward, forget about it.

I understand the clinical trials for the vaccines are suppose to be completed in 2023. I will wait until the trials are completed before I get the Shot. Right now I consider myself in the Control Group for this study.

Wife and I, 71 and 77 both got 2 Moderna shots a month ago. Absolutely zero side effects. On a side note it seems like Georgia is doing a great job of distributing the vaccine.

My thanks go out to all the beta testers who voluntarily subject themselves to the unknown long-term effects of a drug that was released mere months ago despite knowing it took years before the public was informed of the havoc wreaked on an unsuspecting public by fen-phen, thalidomide, DES, and a whole host of other “approved” drugs.

Hate to break it to you, #5, but if those clinical trials™ cast a bad light on the shot, the results will be buried. Also, my belief is that we will be caught in a loop of virus mutations™ that will be with us until Kingdom come. The leftists don't want us to get off the merry-go-round. Too much control would be lost.

I read a vicious article in the Washington Post yesterday by Jennifer Rubin. It was about beginning the discrimination process against those who have not had the vaccine. (My words, not hers, but that was what was being advocated.) The comments after the article were more than frightening. All the attributes that have been reigned down upon Trump supporters are now being used against the non-vaccinated: ignorant, selfish, science-deniers, Trumptards, and on and on and on. Yellow stars, train cars and ovens were not mentioned; the masses were satisfied with complete alienation from society for now. To top it all off, I lost my first client yesterday due to my decision not to vaccinate. It was surreal. The funny thing is that in all of this pontificating and grandstanding about getting vaccinated, I’ve never once had someone ask me my reasons, or to have an actual conversation with me about it. It’s just assumed I’m ignorant, obstinate and one of “those anti-vaxxers.” If you want to vaccinate, do it. It’s your business, not mine. But, I will say that I do not understand the lingering fear after people have been vaccinated. What’s up with that?

same as #6, except i am 68, wife 66. She had a little bit for a day and a sore spot, I didn't even have a sore spot. and here in Florida, at least Brevard county, the county Viera site was super well handled. Crazy line of cars, but including the post injection 15 minute wait, 45 min from time we got in line till we were pulling out and heading home. Now my son, who had covid but Navy made him get vaccinated anyway said his reaction was worse than the covid but only lasted a day or 2

The key issue here is - can you carry and pass on the virus even though you are immune. The current answers seem to be yes, no, maybe. On a semi-scientific basis the real answer seems to be no. Political answer until Nov 3 was yes and is now drifting to no. Don't know how an individual would make decisions based on that.

COVID-19 is an obvious bio-warfare agent.
1 ... Got rid of Trump through changing election laws by fiat.
2 ... Used to cripple economy and as an excuse to expand the 'Bread and Circuses' phase of American decline.
3 ... Complete the surrender to China and Big Pharma.

Here's a statistic I go by. Everything the government has suggested would be good for me, or was my duty, has turned out to be 100% wrong. That means every time for the left, who have a lot of space inside.

Everyone imagines that if they don't immediately get sick the vaccine didn't harm them. I think we won't know for three or four years, at least.
I don't trust the folks who made it to not have it set up as phase one of a two part process, in order to ensure worldwide distribution before phase two is implemented. Phase 2 could come in several years, both to seem to disconnect the vaccine from the future problems, and to ensure that the maximum number of people were "vaccinated", worldwide
What if The Great Reset is to solve Malthus' great worry? What is the ecocrazies view of the biggest threat to their wonderful Gaia? Think about it.

Interestingly, on the right if you do not to get the vaccine, that's O.K. , your choice. Live and let live.On the left if you don't get it you are endangering the world and are denigrated, shamed.

We have to remember that we cannot sue big pharma when somegthing goes sideways post vaccination. None of these vaccines can be determined safe with only minimal testing time. Up to four years is the norm to test snd assess results before use, which means 2024 or 2025 at the earliest, which makes little sense. Since the Pfizer and Moderna shots are designed to work by modifying our DNA, we could be courting all sorts of future disasters of the neurological and fertility nature. Don 't let the officials panic you. Covid survivability is high at 99.4%, which makes this whole song and dance look overhyped.

Re #15 and #16.
If I thought our political and corporate 'leaders' around the world weren't taking the vaccine or were taking something else, I might be concerned.
I realized there was another reason for me to get the vaccine. I didn't want to take the chance of contracting COVID and passing it on to the lady Chihuahua who has COPD. In the end, the reasons for getting the vaccine outweighed the reasons for not getting it. if it was just me, I wouldn't care, but that just isn't the case.

Yes #13. I hope everyone reads your post and there will come a time you will be proven right, I believe, unfortunately.
I know personally more than a few physicians and pharmacists. They are older, wiser and successful with good ethics and character. They are required to go along with this publicly but personally are a firm no on the “vaccine.” They aggressively strengthen the immune system as a major preventative. They have supplies of hydrochloroquine and ivermectin. They do not believe that some of these world leaders (including USA) who claim vaccinations have actually had them.
I wish everyone well here who has decided to take the shot. I know family pressure can be pretty strong !!

Now research is showing that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine can and does induce changes to our RNA/DNA.
In some cases you might get Type One Diabetes.
Other changes might lead to early onset Alzheimer’s, ALS or prion disease (vCJD.)
Lovely.

Of course, there's a chance you won't get any of those.
This is what happens when you use aborted baby tissue, there are a lot of unknowns.

#19, you believe that they took it because they say they took it? OK. I don't.
Or at least I don't believe they took whatever the rest are getting. Whether it was a special version that doesn't have the phase 2 effect or just a saline solution, I don't know.
There ARE people who would do this and believe in their evil black hearts that they were "saving the planet".

At 69 I had the Rona 5 months ago. I have had worse colds. I have no plans on getting the vaccine for a year or so. I find it amusing that people who fear non organic food and genetically altered food products are willing to inject a genetically altered mrna into their blood stream.

With the widespread availability of multiple vaccines, we can now respond as Americans always have: as we perceive our own best interest. Anyone who feels him/her/it/them/otherself to be at risk from COVID can choose to be immunized. Those who opt not to do so assume the responsibility for any consequences of that decision. It's that simple.
For the record, my wife and I (71 and 69) have received both shots in the Pfizer sequence. We are immune (as I assume is also true of everyone of equal or greater risk), so we will lay no expectations on others to "protect" us by restricting their behavior.
We have reached a point where societal norms can be resumed, and our "leaders" know that. Where we go from here really depends on their willingness to cede power and our rights back to us.

Since we're doing away with HIPAA laws and will have to start carrying around a vaccine passport, let's get an on line listing of who's gotten (or not) the flu shot, who's got an STD of any kind (including AIDS) and who's had an abortion.

I look at who's pushing it and that decides for me. The politicians and billionaires and celebrities have never once told the truth to anyone about anything. No reason to believe they would now. Couple that with the legal immunities the companies got and one must wonder what they and the goobermint know that they arent saying. I'm not even sure this is even about the covid virus, or even if there IS a covid virus. I got bad sick in Feb of 2019 and haven't been sick since despite never masking or taking any precautions whatsoever. Considering the government's track record on experimenting on citizens without their informed consent, I have big doubts.
The other thing is more personal. I was born without the herding gene. For my whole life, if everyone else was doing something I deemed it to be stupid and did something else instead. That characteristic has served me will in life and I see no reason to change it now.

Mr. Rice’s decision tree seems to be premature and possibly catastrophic. The vaccine is experimental with unknown long term side effects. So he is balancing known covid statistics against who knows what.

I may be forced into a situation where I will have to get the vaccine. I live in a European country that has just announced that come May10, in order to go into any shop, business, restaurant, or essentially any venue, I would have to prove I have been vaccinated, had a negative Covid test within the past 72 hours, or had recovered from Covid in the past 3 months. Essentially this is extortion - they want everyone to get the vaccine. I am hoping that cooler heads will prevail and this will change as I think this will be very difficult to implement not to mention that it most likely is illegal to force someone to provide medical information just to enter a business. But if it comes to be, it looks like I will be getting a rapid Covid test every 72 hours as long as they are free here. I am FURIOUS over this.
