Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday will announce that the Department of Justice is launching an investigation into the practices of the Minneapolis police department, Justice Department officials told NBC News. The announcement will come one day after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted by a jury in the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, who was killed in custody last year. (Snip) If the Justice Department concludes that a department has systematically violated the law, it can pursue a settlement with the department, often known as a consent decree, which sometimes entails independent monitoring or

The entire police department should quit. Tell the little gerbil AG and his staff Nazis that they have his investigation "right here."

Minneapolis is as leftist as Berkley. But this is just a first step in the federal government assuming control over all local police - just like the nazis did in the 1930s. In case you are too lazy to look it up, Goering was appointed head of all police functions prior to Himmler ascending to that role. Goering was admired at the time for his heroism in WWI, so the public push back was muted, but the the control of the police was what let the nazis to secure absolute power. History may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

Doubtful if Minneapolis will HAVE a police department within another year. Better move out now, while you still can.

Whatever you do, don't probe the problems with the black family that produces so many criminals. That would be racist, I'm guessing Lady Kamala wants to explore the roots of illegal immigration. She, and the democrats, definitely don't want to look at the black family. The dems got them right where they want them, poor and tied to government cheese.

Red cities should send employment opportunity emails to the police officers in Minneapolis. Offer to hire them and count their time served in that racist thug hellhole as part of their pension package.
Minneapolis deserves to get what they ask for, good and hard - a city with no law enforcement whatsoever.

Agree with #4 - the ones that can will retire, and the rest will quit as soon as they find other jobs. Minneapolis will become a candidate for a sequel in the Snake Plissken ("Escape from.....") movies.

They will make the police even LESS effective, and murders and other violent crimes will increase even MORE.

I’ve got news for Garland. The cops aren’t the ones out of control. The criminals are. It’s a sick country right now.

The DOJ under Biden/Obama will do to Minneapolis just what they did to Ferguson, MO (all of the St Louis area, really, I was there) and Baltimore, MD. They will destroy the city.

Watched this idiot try to read a speech this morning. He was filled with hate, and came across as President Trump would say "...not very bright..." We dodged a bullet when Cocaine Mitch blocked him - thanks Mitch!

Chicago was slapped with a consent decree, and we all know how well that's working out.

DOJ, you are the head of justice in this county. You need to investigate yourself. Quit blaming the house you built on someone else.

This is the same kind of crap they did and are still doing to the Baltimore police after the riots several years ago. The department is more than 500 officers short, and trying to get anyone to become a police officer is like pulling teeth. The police are handcuffed while trying to perform their duties, murders this year are at 92 which is more than last year at this time. Every move an officer takes is on video and could result in the officer getting arrested if the state's attorney, an Obozo advocate, feels she can get away with it. As stated before, downtown Baltimore is pretty much a ghost town after dark, except for the stupid young people from the suburbs who still think it's the place to live. Then these same stupid young people have the nerve to be surprised when their car is broken into, or stolen, or when they get mugged, or a murder happens right around the corner from where they live. Yet they still have BLM signs in the windows of their homes. My father was from the greatest generation, this is the dumbest generation.

Minnesota and Minneapolis have been socialist Democrat places for a long time. The Mayor of Minneapolis is an extreme leftist Democrat and the Chief of Police there is a Black man. Essentially the City of Minneapolis is as liberal a City as you can fine in the USA. So what Biden’s Attorney General is essentially doing is sending a bunch of Department of Justice liberal lawyers to investigate the Minneapolis Police Department that has been run by leftist and liberal Democrats for as long as anyone there can remember. This is simply another Biden attempt to exploit the racial situation in Minneapolis and fake out Black people to the effect that they are coming down big time on the police. What will happen is the the Biden Department of Justice will do is find a Federal Judge who will effectively take over the running of the Minneapolis Police Department through some sort of consent degree or injunction, thus getting the leftist Democrat politicians in Minneapolis off the hook. That’s an old Obama Administration tactic.
