Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed once declared his sacred "obligation" to follow Sharia law in every aspect of his life until he meets his maker on the day he dies, according to unearthed comments he made to the New York Times in 2009 as a young man buying his first home.
"Ultimately, the question is, when I die and I stand before God and go through everything I did in my life, I don't want to say I did it the easy way instead of the Shariah-compliant way. Not because of fear but because of obligation," said El-Sayed,

There are good reasons why minors, generally regarded as people under the age of 18, aren't allowed to do certain things. They generally lack the judgement, the moral clarity, and the experience to make certain decisions. That is why they cannot sign contracts, buy firearms or a bottle of booze, or vote.
The left, on the other hand, seems perfectly all right with minors making one class of irreversible decision: "Gender-affirming" medical treatments. Now, though, the Trump administration has slammed the door on a source of funding for this, as the Medicaid program will no longer pay for these treatments.

There have been lots of bizarre primary results around the country–mostly on the Democrat side, to be fair–but it looks like here in Minnesota, reason has prevailed.
Lisa Demuth, the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, has been called as the winner of the Republican primary for governor. Results here. This is notable because Mike Lindell, the My Pillow guy, was also in the race, and he was endorsed by Donald Trump. Trump’s endorsement was, frankly, idiotic. Lindell hadn’t the faintest qualifications to be governor, and if he had gotten the nomination, he would have been crushed by Amy Klobuchar

The late, great Margaret Thatcher once observed, “The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.” That is what New York City Democrats are going to do if they persist in their outrageous new taxation plan.
At some point either this year or next year, thousands of wealthy homeowners in New York City are set to pay the pied-à-terre tax on “non-primary” homes worth over $1 million. The threat of the tax has already driven more people to rent instead of buying property, and has also encouraged the ongoing problem of top-tier taxpayers leaving the lefty state.
This concerns Donald Trump,

Former Trump attorney-turned-anti-Trump crazy person Ty Cobb joined CNN OutFront host Erin Burnett on Monday to compare a photo of new Attorney General Todd Blanche in the Oval Office with President Trump and others to Hitler, “Himmler, Goring, and Goebbels.” As if that was not wild enough, Cobb would also baselessly speculate Blanche will rig the upcoming midterms for Trump by seizing voting machines and working with Speaker Mike Johnson to refuse to give up power.
Burnett reacted to a video put out by the White House of Blanche’s swearing in by observing, “The man swearing him in is now Judge Emil Bove.

MS NOW via SnapStream An Iranian assassination plot against President Trump was apparently so credible that while leaving the NATO summit in Turkey last month, the Secret Service deemed it necessary to play a shell game with Air Force One and spirited away the President to a different Air Force plane. However, to the leftist extremists of MS NOW, it was rollicking affair. During the handoff between Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell’s The Last Word Monday night, the two laughed about situation and reveled in how Trump “lost complete control in this story.”“I am very pleased,” Maddow proclaimed

Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen revealed Tuesday that Israeli spies had “toured” Iran’s heavily fortified Fordow nuclear site “many times” to understand the underground facility before its eventual destruction by U.S. forces — offering a striking glimpse into the depth of Israel’s intelligence penetration of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
“We toured the Fordow nuclear site many times in order to understand the site,” Cohen, who led Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency from 2016 to 2021, said at the Galilee Conference in northern Israel.

Tuesday on MS NOW’s “State of Play,” former CIA Director John Brennan expressed his concern that President Donald Trump would somehow interfere with the midterm elections.
Host Peter Alexander said, “The president has had a hard time getting his SAVE America Act effort through. We’ve heard a lot on this conversation as it relates to voting restrictions. He wants to pass it through Congress. He doesn’t have the votes right now.”
After playing a clip of Trump discussing the midterms, Alexander asked, “Your reaction to that? A lot of fear about what may happen ahead of these midterms.”
Brennan said, “I think we all should be very worried

A report from the Major Cities Chiefs Association shows that gun-controlled Chicago has more murders thus far this year than all major cities in pro-gun Florida combined.
The report was released August 5, 2026, at which time it indicated Chicago had 211 murders for the year.
By contrast, Florida’s major cities–Miami, Orlando, and Tampa–had a combined 29 murders during the same time frame.
Specifically: Eight murders in Miami, ten murders in Orlando, and eleven murders in Tampa.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) said he will not campaign against Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA) if his fellow Pennsylvania senator seeks reelection in 2030.
Fetterman made clear that his friendship with McCormick would keep him from working to defeat the Republican, though he stopped short of promising an endorsement.
“Well, I would absolutely never move against my friend,” Fetterman told the Washington Examiner.
Fetterman called McCormick a “great guy” before repeating his position.
“I would never, ever move against my friend,” he said.
The pledge marks a change from the 2024 Senate race, when Fetterman backed then-Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA)

The race between Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley to serve as the Democratic nominee for Wisconsin governor remained too close to call late Tuesday evening.
Heading into Election Day, polls widely favored Hong, a controversial ultra-progressive chef and state lawmaker who previously called for abolishing the police and Thanksgiving. However, Hong underperformed in early returns on Tuesday evening, creating a closer-than-expected race. By 10 p.m. local time on Tuesday evening, both candidates had received roughly 39.9 percent of the vote each, with an estimated 82 percent of votes counted.

Six states go to the polls today in primaries and a special election. One state may ring a death knell for Democrat hopes for significant gains in this midterm cycle, and Democrats have finally begun to realize it.
Unless the polls miss as badly in Wisconsin as pollsters performed in Michigan, Francesca Hong will win the Democrat nomination for governor tonight. She'll have to compete against Rep. Tom Tiffany, who has spent the last few weeks practically salivating at the prospect. The Wall Street Journal reports this morning that Democrats "inside and outside Wisconsin" are experiencing a very different gastric reaction to this outcome:
