The Senate confirmed former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker as the U.S. ambassador to NATO. Whitaker’s approval ensures that a loyalist to President Donald Trump will serve as his de facto surrogate to the U.S.-led alliance while relations with its members are at a historic low. Whitaker will likely use his position to increase pressure on NATO allies to increase defense spending, something Trump has demanded since his first administration. His first major action as ambassador will be to attend a Brussels summit with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The globalist World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab has begun to “start the process” of stepping down as chair of its board of trustees, the Geneva-based institution confirmed Thursday.
The German academic said the forum, which convenes its annual gathering of world elites at the Swiss resort of Davos, must recover its “sense of mission” after a period of turmoil.
The Financial Times first reported Schwab’s departure, citing a letter to trustee board members and confirmation by two people with knowledge of the situation.

On January 20, he also signed the executive order “Restoring Accountability To Policy-Influencing Positions Within The Federal Workforce” to manage the federal workforce and ensure the execution of federal law.
