Elon Musk’s First DOGE Agents Arrive
In DC

Elon Musk's ambitious push to reshape America's financial landscape took a bold step forward this week. His first "DOGE Agents" arrived in Washington, D.C., with a clear target: the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). These agents are aiming squarely at the agency's grip on taxation and regulation of digital currencies. As Americans watch closely, many see this as a much-needed pushback against bureaucratic overreach. In contrast, others warn that Musk’s growing influence could open the door for unchecked corporate power over public policy.

"could open the door for unchecked corporate power over public policy" And WHAT public policy would that be? Some mumbo jumbo made up by some Deep State agency without input from Congress or the President? Further, this is not an exercise of Corporate Power, it is an exercise in Presidential Power since all Musk's actions will be at the pleasure and agreement of the President. If Trump says "No" to some action, you can be sure it will NOT happen. Of course, agencies have been running out of control for quite a while so it is not surprising that they are upset that their party is about to be over. BTW, one of the things I would REALLY like to see is tight fiscal accountability for all federal spending. If you don't responsibly document your spending in the current year, your funding is cut for the next year and leadership is on the chopping block. If you don't provide proper fiscal management or oversight, your advancement in government service should be blocked.

Defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth’s FBI background check came back as “unremarkable,” according to a report on Monday, a day before he appears before the Senate for his confirmation hearing. According to Punchbowl News, his FBI file was delivered to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MI) and Ranking Member Jack Reed (D-RI) late last week. The outlet reported: Sens. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.) — the chair and ranking member, respectively — are the only committee members who have viewed Hegseth’s FBI file, which was delivered to the panel late last week. Republicans on SASC who have been briefed say that the report is unremarkable.

Dementia Joe’s disastrous presidency can’t end soon enough. While he’s busy offering clemency to child rapists and murderers (and teasing the prospect of pardons for the lawfare tyrants who tormented his political adversaries these miserable last four years), his chief operating officer handling the Democrats’ suicidal open borders policy — Department of Homeland (in)Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — is preoccupied with shielding a million more foreign nationals from future deportation. This extra protection for Venezuelans, El Salvadorans, Ukrainians, and Sudanese is in addition, of course, to the lawless Biden regime’s ongoing criminal conspiracy to aid and abet international drug smugglers, sex slavers, and black market crime syndicates

In an unexpected turn of events, Iran has offered aid to California as the state grapples with devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles. The offer raises questions about the motivations behind Tehran's odd gesture. While Democrats may view this as a diplomatic move, many conservatives are wary of accepting aid from a regime known for its hostility toward the United States and its support for anti-American causes. Critics argue that California should focus on strengthening ties with trusted allies and domestic resources rather than relying on help from a terrorist-backed nation with a track record of undermining American interests.

Washington—Special counsel David Weiss, who successfully prosecuted first son Hunter Biden on tax fraud and gun charges, slammed President Biden’s criticism of his investigation as “gratuitous and wrong” in a report on the years-long investigation released Monday. “Other presidents have pardoned family members, but in doing so, none have taken the occasion as an opportunity to malign the public servants at the Department of Justice based solely on false accusations,” Weiss wrote in his 27-page report. (Photo) “I prosecuted the two cases against Mr. Biden because he broke the law,” wrote Weiss, who also serves as Delaware US Attorney and who attached to his report hundreds of pages of court filings.

Washington—The Justice Department can publicly release special counsel Jack Smith’s investigative report on President-elect Donald Trump’s 2020 election interference case, a federal judge said Monday — the latest ruling in a court dispute over the highly anticipated document days before Trump is set to take office again. But a temporary injunction barring the immediate release of the report remains in effect until Tuesday, and it’s unlikely U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon’s order will be the last word on the matter. Defense lawyers may seek to challenge it all the way up to the Supreme Court. Cannon, who was nominated to the bench by Trump, had earlier temporarily blocked the department

Senate committees will begin to hold hearings this week on 13 cabinet nominees selected by President-elect Donald Trump. Senate Republican leadership is tasked with helping Trump fast-track all 13 nominees out of committee for a full floor Senate vote. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) promised Trump that he would work hard to sidestep any roadblocks Democrats present, even if that means forcing senators to work Fridays. “All it takes is one Democrat to refuse to consent to fast-tracking any of these nominees, meaning Senate Majority Leader John Thune would have to burn a few days of floor time to confirm each one,” Punchbowl News reported Monday.

During President Donald Trump's first term, First Lady Melania Trump seemed to be purposely keeping a lower profile than most first ladies. She appeared on President Trump's arm at the usual events, but most of her focus — rightly so — seemed to be on being Mom to her and Donald's son Barron. But Barron is all grown up now, and Melania Trump seems to see herself maintaining a somewhat higher profile in her husband's second term. On Monday, she sat down for another interview with Fox News's "Fox and Friends" to discuss her plans. Melania Trump said in an interview Monday that she is excited

As the California wildfires continued to consume large swaths of land, destroy homes, gut businesses, and take lives, a Democratic Congresswoman from the state went on television and offered up a galaxy-brain scapegoat. Maxine Waters once famously urged her supporters to angrily confront Trump administration officials out in public. She instructed them to "create a crowd" to "push back" in order to send a message that such people are "not welcome anymore, anywhere." Mob tactics. Fast forward to recent days, and she's taken to reciting a stale, partisan, irrelevant talking point as her party's leadership failures in her home state have grown increasingly undeniable.
