VILLEPINTE, France — Boxer Imane Khelif of Algeria clinched a medal at the Paris Olympics in an emotional fight Saturday that followed days of sharp scrutiny and online abuse as misconceptions about her gender exploded into a larger clash about identity in sports. Khelif defeated Anna Luca Hamori of Hungary 5:0 in the quarterfinals of the women’s 66-kilogram division. Khelif will win at least a bronze medal after she comfortably earned the second victory of her tumultuous second trip to the Olympics. Khelif faced outcry fueled by claims from the International Boxing Association, which has been banned from the Olympics

There is no "misconception." If the person's gender chromosomes are XY they are male, with all the physical advantages of being male. And they have no business competing against those with XX.

Chromosomes tell the ONLY story. If he has a messed up set of genitalia, my sympathy goes out for HIM, but he is NOT a female, and this beating up actual women is a sad thing. Chromosomes need to be THE deciding factor, and genitalia are not conclusive. Some tiny number of people have problems with ambiguous or abnormal genitals. Just from looking at him you can tell that he must have testes and have lived with male levels of testosterone his whole life.

This is not about gender. It is about being a biological male or female. Like Sara Huckabee Sanders said “The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left. “The choice is between normal or crazy". That includes the nut jobs on the Olympic Committee. I imagine every tranny will be trying out for the Olympics since it will be in CA next time. Give it up women. It's not worth it. Tell them to F off and walk away.

Good grief. Gender is a linguistic concept, not applicable to human beings, much less the core of our identity. Gender ideology as such has become a RELIGION to these people, and when officials promulgate it, they're dwelling in Fantasy Land. To adapt a well-worn but relevant metaphor, the emperor is buck-ass naked.

The only gender misidentification in the article is the author's. I too am disgusted the IOC let him compete against women. If this continues, men who are marginal in sports can have gender-"reassignment" surgery and compete against real women. Apparently, this happened before sex determination tests were started, predominately by the East Germans. IIRC, that is why the sex tests were instituted, I don't know how these tests are administered, but each prospective female contestant needs to have a DNA test done. My hope is the pendulum is about down swinging toward crazy. and will start back to sane. I think the more protests, the faster it will swing toward normal.
