Empty suit, empty suites: Joe Biden's
government of empty buildings

Original Article

We often ask who's running the government with a White House led by doddering Joe Biden. But with a new audit out, maybe the real question is what is the government. According to the Washington Examiner: The evacuation of federal headquarters during the COVID-19 crisis appears to have become permanent and costly with up to 90% of several agency headquarters empty, according to a federal audit. At least 6 of 24 Washington area headquarters are 90% empty, including several that manage federal office space and employees such as the General Services Administration and the Office of Personnel Management.

Comments:

Ideal time for Trump to come in and order 100% attendance or you're fired. Outside of normal sick days and vacation, they should be in the office. If we can't actually make them work for their bloated salaries, we can at least interfere with their 100% paid leave by making them show up.

Tends to beg the question why the FBI wants to build a HQ building larger than the Pentagon.

Good way to trim the bloat in the federal government. Wonder how many are actually "working from home" or loading and collecting a check.

Re #3, my bet is that the actual "working" at home doesn't reach up 50%, and especially so if they are some sort of a minority, or other 'protected class'. They can just do whatever they choose and forever draw a check, written on you and me.

I's rather pay for the utilities than have all the government drones back at their desks writing new rules and regulations. Maybe they are all the 'non-essential' workers who get sent home during the usual budget crisis kabuki.

Let's face facts. These people who no longer travel each morning to come to work? About half of them were unnecessary to begin with. Complain about them not going to work and you are a monster and they will tell you how wonderful this staying home on the computer is to work , and how they are getting the job done. To be honest it probably is working, because like I said before, a good half of them were not necessary anyway.

Last November while taking a train to New York, I was seated next to four D.C. government employees going to New York to shop. It was a week day trip, and when I said something to the effect of "taking a day off"?, they admitted they all worked from home and rarely go into the office. In fact, they didn't take a day off, they just decided to go to New York instead of working that day and apparently from what I heard, they did this quite often.

The FBI does not need a new HQs. They can look up Trump on the NSA database from home. It looks like the GOP law requiring unused office space to be disposed of is ignored by the Democrats, who disregard law. The GOP is the stupid party, because they put no consequences for not complying with their laws.

There must be some federal buildings here in my area of east central Missouri. When you go to stores through the day, men and women of ages that should be in an office are out shopping or eating. I always comment to friend, 'does no one go to work any more?' There can't be that many that work nights. Totally agree with #1.

What do you think of when you hear “placebo-controlled clinical trial?” Most people familiar with the term will understand it to be the standard way many drugs are tested in order to determine efficacy and safety before they are licensed and marketed to the general public. It’s usually understood to involve a pharmacologically inactive or inert pill with no active ingredient producing no medical effect as part of a control group used to draw a comparison between it and the experimental drug under inspection. But if you thought that this is what is used to test the safety of vaccines, you’d be wrong.

The idea that carbon dioxide (CO2) drives global warming or “climate change” now enjoys unquestioned authority and near universal approval. As burgeoning public policy, nationally and in some states, it is seeping into what once were private matters of choice (e.g., light bulbs, kitchen cooktops). Many scientists, primarily physicists, consider the belief pure supposition, however, and colossally off track. John Stuart Mill observed in chapter six of his System of Logic, on ratiocination or logical thinking, that a doctrine may endure because inferences from it lead to ostensibly sound conclusions -- while belief in the doctrine’s truth may exist only by excluding evidence it is false.

China is a problem. It’s an immediate problem for Taiwan, but it’s also a long-term problem for America, given that it’s our greatest geopolitical enemy (no matter what Democrats say about Russia! Russia! Russia!). However, Ben Shapiro has put together an excellent short video detailing the structural problems that bedevil China and that put it both at risk of implosion and explosion. Over the years, I’ve written often about China, both the threat it poses and the weaknesses it has. I’ve covered its demographic problems, the way it’s overreached itself with its belt-and-road policies, its shaky internal economy, and its showy but surprisingly weak military.

A 93-year-old New York City woman died, and another was rescued, when fire and smoke filled a building. Firefighters said one focus of the investigation is on an e-bike battery that might have exploded into flames. If so, it would add to the mounting number of deaths city officials blame on malfunctioning e-bike batteries. With some 65,000 e-bikes zipping through its streets, New York City is the epicenter of battery-related fires. There have been more than 100 such blazes so far this year, resulting in at least 14 deaths, already more than double the six fatalities last year.

Okay, so let me get this straight regarding the “quirks” of electric vehicles. If you’re fleeing a natural disaster, like a hurricane for instance, the nature of the design might impede efficient and safe evacuation; or they might simply explode, because exposure to salt water can link the positive and negative battery terminals, causing a short circuit. Well, if they’re just sitting there too I guess, there’s still a heightened risk of spontaneous explosion with a long-burning, extra-hot, inextinguishable fire. They don’t really work in “cold” weather, and now, according to new data, “excessive heat can greatly diminish electric vehicle range” too?

The hard left actually believes it reflects the opinions of all Democrats and indeed all liberals. This is simply not true. The hard left is in conflict with the majority of Americans, left, right or center. Does Mayor Adams of NYC agree with the border policy of the present administration? Does anyone living in the areas distressed by their policies? The hard left is a tiny minority, yet it yields amazing power, in the media, government, the courts, business, bureaucracies, and politics. These self-proclaimed "elites" (hard left) are largely in control of what we see and hear. Yes, they even call themselves "elite."

One of the things characterizing the Biden administration is incoherence. Biden is frequently completely unintelligible, mumbling sounds to himself and his audience. Kamala offers wordy, banal phrases that fail to hide that her premise, conclusion, and argument are all identical. And Karine Jean-Pierre, despite having her eyes glued to her notes most of the time, is the Sergeant Schultz of press secretaries, for she knows nothing most of the time. It’s hardly surprising, therefore, to learn that the Biden White House has purged over 30% of the people allowed press passes…none of whom belong to the major MSM outlets.

A majority of priests of the Church of England want the church to offer same-sex weddings and allow premarital and gay sex, according to a major survey. The survey, conducted by the Times, found most Anglican priests think church teaching should be brought into line with public opinion on moral issues. Most priests support a change to allow gay couples to get married in church, with 53.4 percent in favor and 36.5 percent opposed, revealed the survey, which assessed responses from 1,200 active Anglican priests. The Church of England currently allows blessings for gay couples but only permits church weddings between a man and a woman.

Federal revenue dropped $416 billion compared to this time last year, according to recently released U.S. Treasury Department data, despite the Democrats’ passage of their $780 billion Inflation Reduction Act last year. The legislation, which President Biden signed in August 2022, contained a 15% minimum corporate income tax, which still hasn't been fully implemented by the IRS. Experts at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Tax Foundation told Just the News that most of the revenue raising provisions in the IRA have not taken effect yet but they likely won't raise much revenue given the price-tag of the energy-related tax credits in the bill.
