My great uncle left the farm in Ohio and went to California where he worked on the railroad. He lived in San Francisco and loved it there. In 1906, he was in the hospital when the great earthquake hit. He rolled under the bed and was rescued. He moved to Sacramento but never lost his love for San Francisco or for California. He was a devout Catholic and I know he would be outraged by this.

Speaking of "great earthquakes" --- God will NOT be mocked. Eventually there will come a time when His patience with California comes to an end. I still fail to understand why these people are worthy of being "honored" for anything. I hope that Catholics do protest this.

How evil: Honor those who mock rather than those who help and heal! Think of all the nuns — real ones — who have served others and by doing so served the Lord Almighty, their Savior. No honor for them by the State of California! Rather, they honor those who mock and tear down others — self-serving people who destroy others. What a load of old manure!

No wonder our country is in such a mess. Read some of today's headlines: In Minnesota, a transgender man sues to be incarcerated in a women's prison rather than a man's prison. He won the law suit and was awarded a great deal of money for his pain and suffering. (The rights of the women prisoners who objected were ignored.) A member of a drag queen group is going to be honored by California lawmakers. The group the man belongs to regularly commits blasphemy against Christ and the Blessed Mother by their words and their actions, along with other tasteless behavior. The blasphemous drag queen group will be honored at Dodgers' Stadium on Pride Night. (Latin American Catholics - of which there are many in Los Angeles area - have a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and Her Son. I hope they see pictures of how these men blaspheme Jesus and Mary and Target the team.) A congressman considers it a great victory to prevent a drag queen group from performing at a military base. (Why in God's name was it ever scheduled to be there in the first place?) How far we have fallen from the words and actions of our extraordinary Founding Fathers. They'd find these goings-on bizarre, as we do too.

For decades, leftists have described anyone and anything they don’t like as “racist.” (snip) Unfortunately for leftists, actual white supremacists are pretty scarce on the ground. According to the Heartland Institute’s Julie Kelly, FBI data simply “does not support [the] accusation” that “white supremacy” or “white nationalism” is a widespread problem. Leftists try to get around this inconvenient truth by simply declaring Western culture itself “white supremacist.” That characterization is false. What we call “Western culture” is essentially the marriage of Judeo-Christian morality with classical (that is, Greek and Roman) intellectualism. It privileges reason over emotion and the individual over the state

The Biden administration is moving forward with a 20-year ban on new oil and gas leasing near an Indigenous cultural site in New Mexico despite stark opposition from Native Americans in the region. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland finalized the action Friday which bans fossil fuel and mineral leasing within a 10-mile buffer zone around the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in northwestern New Mexico. The ban ultimately amounts to a withdrawal of approximately 336,404 acres of public lands from mineral leasing near the site some Native Americans consider sacred.
