Officials at the Federal Reserve and in the Biden administration are seeing promising signs that the U.S. might finally be through the worst of inflation. But don’t expect them to declare victory anytime soon.
Import prices have dropped as the value of the dollar has surged. Supply chain snarls have been easing for months. Retailers have been building up their backroom store of products. All of these trends suggest that price spikes should begin to cool off.
But topline inflation data has remained stubbornly high, feeding the steady drumbeat of remarks by central bank policymakers that they can’t let up yet.

Mission accomplished?!? Have the idiots at Politico been to the grocery store or the gas station recently? And didn't the CPI increase by 8.5% over last year (latest report). Mission accomplished in destroying the middle class.

Maybe because inflation hasn't eased, and they would be cursed or laughed at?

This commie death democrat propaganda hack at Politico, Victoria Guida, is either a bold faced liar or has taken at least 50 hits of LSD before she wrote this steaming pile of lying, propaganda horse crap about the state of the economy. Inflation is a roaring bonfire, the supply chains are still a complete mess, a devastating nationwide rail strike is now looming right after the mid-term elections (what convenient timing for the communist death democrats who supposedly had a deal in place with the Unions in September but in reality kicked the can down the road until after the mid-terms), retailers have been liquidating inventory, mortgage rates are skyrocketing and so the question is where exactly is this so-called inflation expert getting her data from? One guess - the illegal democrat communist cabal in the White House. What a commie tool.
Evil lurks everywhere these days. Why are the communist death democrat women the most evil of all?

Inflation eases??? What a bunch of malarkey. It's still over 8%.
Politico should be sold along side with the comic books.

If the inflation rate hover ms around the same amount +\- a decimal percent they say it’s been halted. What a crock of Biden! Until inflation drops to 1-2% people will be paying out their behinds for everything.

As inflation EASES? Maybe eases into overdrive. Maybe eases in that it's experiencing less resistance against its climb.
But this seems to be very close to what Biden and other "Progressives" wanted for their so-called great reset. In THAT vein, Biden should declare "Mission Accomplished".

Who said it dropped, Brandon? Yesterday's inflation rate was up from 8.3 to 8.5.

I guess the new Law of the Land is: ''If a liberal communist says it, it's the Gospel...and don't complain.''

I wonder how long it will take for Victoria Guida to remove all the egg from her face. This article flies in the face of yesterday's inflation report yet she foolishly released this article anyways. Does she have enough sense to feel like a complete fool? A retraction is in order but is she smart enough to issue one? I seriously have my doubts.

I suppose it's because the FED just raised your mortgage by 1.5 %
Even if you're so young you didn't have one.
See you next month.
Merry Christmas

don't know about anyone else in this community but in my opinion inflation is not "easing" because the commies are playing with the numbers just like they always do and the alphabet channels and some printed media are broadcasting these lies - there is no progress and we are as bad off now as we were in other recession/depression eras

Author must have written two pieces in wait for the CPI numbers this morning... and they released the wrong article.
Core inflation had gotten worse. Significantly worse.
