This past Thursday evening at the University of Buffalo (UB) I was invited by the Young America's Foundation Chapter at UB to deliver a presentation on “Race and American Exceptionalism.” Before I even arrived, the nature of my visit was made controversial when students on the campus ripped down flyers and even conducted a campus walking protest. Therefore, I knew this would be quite the hostile environment. The question I have is, why? Why is it controversial for a 61-year-old black man who was born in a blacks only hospital in the South to discuss said topic?

At least one Democrat isn’t giving President Joe Biden a free pass for overseeing the worst inflation in 40 years.
Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia issued a scathing statement on the development on Tuesday, rejecting Biden’s attempts to invoke political excuses for the price squeezes on middle-class Americans.
“Let me be clear, inflation is a tax, and today’s historic inflation data tells another chilling story about how these taxes on Americans are completely out of control,” Manchin said.
Manchin directly criticized Biden’s administration for failing to provide solutions to the problem, instead looking for someone to blame.

Gilbert Gottfried, the actor and legendary standup comic known for his raw, scorched voice and crude jokes, has died. He was 67.
Gottfried died from recurrent ventricular tachycardia due to myotonic dystrophy type II, a disorder that affects the heart, his publicist and longtime friend Glenn Schwartz said in a statement.
His family shared the sad news Tuesday on his Twitter account.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness,” they said.

Biden’s approval with independents is also struggling. Only 12 percent of independents strongly approve of the president. Forty-one percent strongly disapprove.

The battle over redistricting has raged in Florida for months now, with even Republicans in the legislature doing their level best to surrender and hand Democrats a nearly status-quo result.
Democrats shouldn’t have dished it out if they couldn’t take it. As it appears more likely that Republicans will retake the House of Representatives and possibly the Senate, discussions of impeaching President Joe Biden are becoming more prevalent on the right. However, not everyone is keen on the idea.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently warned against impeaching President Biden when they retake the House. As calls for Biden’s impeachment are increasing on the right, it appears the lawmaker is signaling that he would not lend his support to such an endeavor.
He might want to rethink this one.

California's Democratic-led Legislature wants to mandate a three-day weekend for all workers at large companies in the state. A new bill being discussed in the state assembly would see the official working week reduced from 40 hours to 32 for companies with 500 employees of more. Any work carried out beyond the 32-hour limit would run into overtime and be paid at time-and-a-half, while those working more than 12 hours a day or for more than seven days a week would be paid double their normal wage.(Snip)Employers would also be forbidden from reducing the workers' current salaries simply because they are working less.

Pope Francis is at it again. Although it is traditional for papal podiums to depict the crucifix, during his recent visit to the island of Malta, Pope Francis ditched the cross lest he offend Muslim migrants. As the archdiocese of Malta openly admitted, “The podium will not be adorned with a crucifix, given that the majority of migrants are Muslim.”
Instead, the podium backdrop used by Francis consisted of recycled plastic bottles with red blobs meant to highlight the two primary reasons Francis was visiting Malta -- to defend migrants and the environment:
