A new era at CNN is set to begin after the ouster of longtime head Jeff Zucker, who stepped down last month, and the naming of his replacement could signal an overhaul at the network which has struggled to draw viewers since former President Donald J. Trump departed from the White House. On Monday, initial reports of the new boss were confirmed when it was announced veteran producer Chris Licht had been tabbed by Discovery CEO David Zaslav to replace the scandal-drenched Zucker who during his nine years at the helm, managed to trash what was once one of the most highly renowned news operations in the nation
We cannot unsee what we have seen, or unhear what we have heard.
CNN will never be trusted, no matter what changes they make.
Soros might as well buy them out and start up under a new name.

“CNN will dial down the prime-time partisanship" which means nothing will change.

It will be a long slog to recover CNN news chops. He'd be wise to can all of Zucker's buddies and focus on straight news reporting. I'd start with Stelter and Lemon. A good guide would be the ones most hysterical at Zucker's departure.

We used to not trust the National Enquirer either did we. But a change in the Publisher's office did them a world of good. They are now more credible than any of the regular news media. I am willing to give CNN a chance, but I have to see just how they change course first.

I'm sure they'll find a way to blame Trump for their woes.

Any man (Chris licht) the so-called producer of Corbett evening show who approved Corbett dancing along with the dancing vaccine needles is doomed. That was the worst and most embarrassing piece of crap on tv I’ve ever seen. Every time I feel a little depressed I watch it just for a good laugh.

Will the Potato have to go to a local news station in Idaho? Will the Lemon find a home on MSNBC? Will the Blitzer retire? Time will tell. Who will remain? Sleeping with the boss evidently wont help. No tears shed by me.

For all his bluster, there is no way that Licht (of Late Night with Steven Colbert) is going to change this zebra’s stripes.

What poster #12 says. A good start would be exposing the Russia/russia collusion hoax and who was behind it.

Mike Allen of Axios is lauding Licht. Further down the column, Joe Concha, a real journalist, shares his very valid doubts about Licht. I go with Concha and will continue to give CNN and MSNBC a pass. Would’t know they existed if it weren’t for LDotters who still watch them and report here.

Barring a lobotomy or death, I will never unsee the breaking CNN news regarding dumb and dumber and the giant q tip.
Their race to ratings hell is documented for life on film and online.
Good luck with the rebrand, new coke, err . . . new cnn.

Death throws. They can't rebrand an icon with alternatives already in place. This move will push their dozen viewers to MSNBC but it won't win over anyone who has turned them off. Their only hope is to hire models and change the name to Communist Naked News. That would give them a certain niche audience again.

Even in the "good old days" under Turner, CNN was a leftist channel, always pushing leftist views, although there was some actual news, too.
CNN has NEVER been anything but a biased news source, and is now 100% propaganda, news free.

The only way he’ll be taken seriously is if he does a massive firing and hiring of new staff. You can’t keep staff like Lemon on board and still be taken seriously about a change. For the changes to be taken seriously new faces on the air are going to have to appear. A new era means new faces.

Decades ago my first wife got tired of asking where I was being sent. After my silence her response was 'I'll just watch CNN...when you return you can tell me what really happened.'
