Former Vice President Mike Pence is dropping anchor in South Carolina as he prepares to mount a 2024 White House bid.
Pence is headed back to the Palmetto State in April and May as part of a deliberate strategy to build support with conservative activists and Republican operatives in the state that hosts the third primary on the GOP nominating calendar — and first in the South. Leading this effort is the plugged-in national Republican strategist Chip Saltsman as well as Josh Kimbrell, a state senator described as an “ambassador” for Pence in South Carolina, with other party insiders quietly assisting.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell countered former President Donald Trump on Tuesday saying those charged with crimes for the January 6 Capitol attack shouldn't have their sentences shortened. 'What we saw here on January the 6th was an effort to prevent the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the other, which had never happened before in our country,' McConnell said at a press conference with GOP leaders. 'My view is I would not be in favor of shortening any of the sentences for any of the people who pleaded guilty to crimes.'

What a dope. George Bush spits on Trump voters and donates to Liz Cheney and Lisa Murkowski. He might as well join the Marxist left at this point. The Daily Mail reported: Former President George W. Bush is jumping into 2022’s heated Republican primary races, documents revealed on Monday, opening his pocketbook to two GOP lawmakers caught in his Republican successor Donald Trump’s crosshairs. Campaign finance disclosures show Bush donated to the re-election campaigns of Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, the daughter of his former Vice President Dick Cheney, and Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski.

Only 50 House members may get to attend President Joe Biden's first State of the Union address as the Omicron surge has resulted in 24 lawmakers getting COVID in one month. On Tuesday, Axios reported that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told colleagues that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned him that she may limit the number of attendees from the House to 25 members per party. Biden will deliver his State of the Union address on March 1. (Photos) McCarthy told Republican leadership about Pelosi's plans - and they were frustrated by them. McCarthy pointed out that Democrats fly on airplanes with more people than who will be

Whoopi Goldberg is “livid” after she was suspended from “The View” over her claim that the Holocaust was “not about race” — and is telling co-workers she is going to quit the show, according to a source.
Goldberg, 66, feels “humiliated” at being disciplined by ABC execs after she followed their advice to apologize for the ill-conceived comments, a well-placed insider told The Post. “She feels ABC executives mishandled this. She followed their playbook. She went on ‘The Late Show With Steven Colbert’ and then apologized again on ‘The View’ the next day,” a source said.

Generally speaking, I am not a fan of polls. For one, I’ve never been polled by anyone. For another, the number of people being polled often strikes me as too small a sample from which to draw broad conclusions. Also, those samples more often than not tend to oversample one group, Democrats, let’s say, over another group, which again leads to questions of accuracy.
Bottom line, I don’t trust ‘em and tend to ignore them in preference to the only poll that actually counts, the election itself.
I’ve often asked myself, what would I do if I were to be contacted to participate in a poll.

She could be America’s next Olympic darling — a stunning 18-year-old skier who signed with Victoria’s Secret and plans to attend Stanford after she vies for gold in Beijing.
But Eileen Gu won’t be competing for the US.
Instead, in a move that’s baffled members of the American skiing community, San Francisco-born-and bred Gu has joined Team China. (Snip) “She became the athlete she is because she grew up in the United States, where she had access to premier training grounds and coaching that, as a female, she might not have had in China,” Hudak told The Post. “I think she would be a different skier if she grew up in China.

Russian forces are poised to invade Ukraine unless the United States and NATO cave to Vladimir Putin's demands. The Biden administration and the Western military alliance have no plans to mount a meaningful response to Russia's unprovoked aggression, but they have gone to great lengths to ensure their symbolic expression of outrage will be as "gender inclusive" as possible.
The NATO Gender-Inclusive Language Manual, published in April 2020, offers crucial guidance for Western military officials regarding the use of

President Joe Biden met with Senate Judiciary leaders on Tuesday, reminding them that the United States Constitution was “always evolving” in his public remarks at the meeting.
“You know there’s always a renewed national debate every time we nominate, any president nominates a justice, because the Constitution is always evolving slightly,” Biden said, referring to his upcoming choice of a nominee to replace the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court.

President Joe Biden has offered Russian President Vladimir Putin access to NATO bases so that Moscow can verify the US does not have Tomahawk cruise missiles in Romania or Poland in a bid to avoid war in Ukraine. Sources close to Biden told Bloomberg on Tuesday the proposal would only come to fruition upon agreement with American allies, especially Poland and Romania. Russia would also need to share similar information about a number of bases housing ground-launched weapons. Biden's proposal reportedly aims to diminish the Kremlin's fears that the US could use the missiles to target Russia.
News of the proposal comes as US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is set

Actress Susan Sarandon has drawn criticism for a Tuesday night tweet that appeared to compare the funerals of two fallen New York City police officers to a display of fascism. Sarandon posted an image of a tweet reading, “I’m gonna tell my kids this is what fascism looks like,” captioning an image of the funeral procession of Jason Rivera, a 22-year-old New York City police officer, who was shot dead while responding to a domestic violence call in Harlem. (Snip) Sarandon added, “So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day?”
Comments:
Bummer, indeed. The day it shows up covered in ads or goes behind a paywall is the day I stop playing. Good on the guy for cashing in, though-if it were me I’d have done the same.
