Now neither Bill Maher nor Joe Rogan is a conservative. But what conservatives see in both of them is a willingness to pierce the veil of democratic narrative and speak some truth to power. They’re willing to say some basic truths that others with a big platform are not. Now, when the elites in control seem drunk on their power, that’s more essential than it ever was.We saw that Maher was willing to put Bari Weiss on last week, and her smackdown on COVID restrictions lit up the internet. Now, I probably don’t agree with Maher on much. But he nails — in a hilarious way — how liberals have

I have a problem with both Rogan and Maher in that their vaunted critical thinking seems to consist solely of attacking the failure of others to think critically as opposed to real critical thinkers such as Ayn Rand or Thomas Sowell who articulate positive principles to live by.

Maher has an audience, some will go because of him being critical of the left but those with common sense will hear what he says. Look we need all the help we can get to get rid of the craziness. By the way, I’m not a fan or follower of Bill but I will listen or read when I see something that makes sense.

Criticizing the failure of the tyrannical dominant narrative seems worthy enough for me.

I certainly hope that enough looney lefties come to their senses just as they reach the edge of the cliff and say “Whoa!”

In terms of Lefty politics, Maher is the living exemplar of this phrase: in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

The author could benefit from an editor or proofreader. 3 of the first 6 sentences begin with the word now. It makes for tedious reading.

Maher is has common sense and even if a Leftie he is funny. He has courage. After 9/11 he took on people who thought the Twin Towers were blown up by hidden explosives within the buildings: “How big of a lunatic do you have to be to see, in real time, two jumbo jet airliners filled with jet fuel each slam into the side of a concrete and steel building at between 500 and 600 mph, see raging infernos ensue for nearly an hour and then, after seeing the structures collapse starting at the very floors that were hit, consider the cause of the collapses and say (in a Jack Benny pose with one arm across the chest and the other arm’s elbow resting upon it with the hand held delicately at the temple and then waved dismissively), ‘Well. As if THAT had anything to do with it.”

Maher’s party didn’t leave him. They have been this insane for all of Maher’s life. The only difference is that President Trump flushed them out of hiding and now they are publicly showing their true faces.

We don’t have to embrace Maher as “one of us” or expect him to be our standard bearer, but credit where credit is due. He’s giving people on the left permission to speak out against the insanity we’ve recognized for years. His monologue on the regulatory state is spot-on. I harbor no illusions that he ever will vote Republican or become pro-life, but there is a place in the national dialog for people like Maher and Rogan.

I despise Bill Maher. So, the lunatic "progressives" have gone even too far for this hateful, obnoxious, religion hater. OK, fine. But Maher does NOT qualify under the broad "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" doctrine. Maher is still my enemy.
I know very little about Rogan. He has asked good questions about medical issues on some of his excellent long interviews. On other topics, I know nothing, have heard he is a hard leftist, but have no personal knowledge of that.

Maher is a putz.
Not a hero to anyone but the thrashing media who are always lighting smoke bombs and star shells to get attention. The slightest push back against insanity is enough to elevate this putz to sage status.

I don't know much about Rogan, but Maher should admit his part in creating this monster culture that exists now. Do that and I might care what you think.
