In this installment of our weekly Sunday Six conversation, PF Whalen and Parker Beauregard of The Blue State Conservative name six companies that continue to mandate COVID vaccines for employees despite the Supreme Court ruling on January 13th which put a commonsensical ending to the Biden Administration’s ridiculous policy.
#6: United Airlines
Parker: You and I each write about a major airline that is mandating the jab for its employees. Indeed, many adopted some of the earliest requirements of any large industry. Despite the Supreme Court ruling, United Airlines insists on maintaining its vaccine mandate policy because, as its CEO said last week, it saves lives.

The State Department has ordered families of U.S. Embassy personnel in Ukraine to begin evacuating the country as soon as Monday, U.S. officials tell Fox News.
Next week, the State Department is also expected to encourage Americans to begin leaving Ukraine by commercial flights, "while those are still available," one official said.
Moscow has massed tens of thousands of troops at the border with Ukraine, leading to fears of an invasion. Late Friday night, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine announced the first shipment of ammunition had arrived as directed by President Biden. U.S. officials say small arms ammunition constitute the bulk of the 200,000

The Board of Governors voted to pass the new policy as it "preserves opportunity for transgender student-athletes while balancing fairness, inclusion and safety for all who compete," according to the report.
"It is important that NCAA member schools, conferences and college athletes compete in an inclusive, fair, safe and respectful environment and can move forward with a clear understanding of the new policy," DeGioia added.
Each particular sport’s national governing body will be responsible for determining transgender athlete participation. If a sport does not have a national governing body, the international federation policy will be enacted, Sports Illustrated reported.

Just days ago, the Supreme Court issued two rulings that have the internet chattering about how the Court killed the administration’s vaccine mandate. While I don’t want to throw cold water on the celebration, I have to say I don’t read things that way. Yes, one of the rulings killed the attempt to use OSHA to force businesses to require vaccination of their employees, that is the only bright spot I see. Rather than a decisive blow for freedom, it looks more like a fairly minor victory in a skirmish with the battle still to be won or lost. CORRECTION*

An off-duty Milwaukee police detective was shot when intervening after an attempted carjacking last week.
A mother and food delivery driver says she turned off her car, got out and started walking towards a Shake Shack to pick up an order Thursday when she noticed employees pointing and waving at her. She says another car pulled up next to her when a man hopped out of it and into hers. "My daughter said, ‘Who are you?’ to him, and he turned around and said, ‘Whoa’ and jumped out," she said.

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby -- who was indicted on federal perjury charges Thursday – has previously praised and been supported by Vice President Kamala Harris during her rise as a progressive Democrat in Maryland.
"When we march and we shout about what we need to do to reform the criminal justice system, we better understand that we gotta march and shout with our paychecks – and all of the work that we can do to actually make sure that somebody like Marilyn Mosby gets reelected into that office, to not only get convictions, but have convictions,"

MSNBC's Al Sharpton said President Biden's emotionally charged address Tuesday didn't seem like one intended to win support for sweeping Democratic election legislation, calling it a "you're going to hell" speech.
Sharpton, a liberal activist in addition to his weekend hosting duties on MSNBC, was on hand for Biden's Atlanta address, where the president framed the debate over Democratic election overhauls in stark terms: Either you were with reviled figures like segregationist Gov. George Wallace and Confederate President Jefferson Davis, or on the side of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr., and the late John Lewis, whom one of the proposed Democratic voting bills is named after.

Los Angeles crimes have seeped into the wealthiest of neighborhoods, rocking residents and being compared to dystopian movie franchise "The Purge." Residents have flocked to the city’s only gun store in response, arming themselves as a last-ditch effort for protection even though the city has a long track record of supporting liberal policies and gun control.
"Although that is a part of my living, I get no pleasure whatsoever by having a 60-, 70-year-old woman walk into my store … who looks terrified, and say, ‘I have never liked guns. In fact, I've even hated guns. I would have never considered buying one.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul released data Friday breaking down COVID-19 hospitalizations by those who were admitted due to the virus and those who were admitted for other reasons but were found to have the illness.
Included in the data was a chart showing "how many hospitalized individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 were admitted for COVID-19/COVID-19 complications and how many were admitted for non-COVID-19 conditions."
According to the provided statistics, in approximately 43% of hospital admissions "COVID was not included as one of the reasons for admission."
Such cases totaled 4,928 as of Jan. 7, compared to 6,620 patients "admitted due to COVID or complications of COVID."

With over 1,200 daily COVID deaths for many weeks the US is on track to reach a total of one million COVID related deaths by the end of March. A shameful record for 2022. To think that every week over 8,000 Americans are dying, mostly in hospital ICUs is unbelievable. But that is no excuse that there is no serious attention by the mainstream media. Take a moment to reflect that this is more deaths than those in the 9/11 attacks and Pearl Harbor, combined. And it is happening every week. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton scored what he considered to be a "win for the children of Texas" after a federal judge ruled against vaccine and mask mandates for Head Start programs initiated by the Biden administration.
The ruling from Judge James "Wesley" Hendrix of the U.S. District Court Northern District of Texas orders a halt in required COVID-19 protocol conditions for the funding of Head Start programs. The new rules issued last month require children over 2 in Head Start programs to wear masks, while the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is requiring staff, contractors and volunteers in the program to be vaccinated by the end of January.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson is allowing the COVID-19 state of emergency that has been in place since March 2020 to expire, saying that "we all now know how to best fight and prevent serious illness from this virus."
Parson, a Republican, announced on Friday that the state’s COVID-related state of emergency would not be renewed on New Year’s Eve.
"Thanks to the effectiveness of the vaccine, widespread efforts to mitigate the virus, and our committed health care professionals, past needs to continue the state of emergency are no longer present," Parson said.

I thank God I don't work for a company that pulls this stuff. My prayers for those who do.
