The article and the proposed law are about as confusing as they can get. Leave it to Progressive, Goody-Two-Shoes Civilians to really screw things up. If only they would spend some time with actual military people, they might not be so ignorant sounding on subjects of which they know little to nothing.

You'd think if anyone would understand this slippery slope, it would be Jonestown survivor Jackie Speier.
But she's retiring so not her problem.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but most gunfire violence is committed by young black males. That the focus should be focused on the military is, at the least, a deflection from the real problem. The military apparently needs to be further emasculated by the left. The 30% know they can't achieve their goals in the election booth (sans fraud) so this is the sort of thing they resort to.
As far as ending a sentence in a preposition, I draw your attention to the old joke... a Texas freshman approaches a Harvard upperclassman and asks 'where's the library at?' The upperclassmen responds, 'we don't end sentences with prepositions at Harvard,' to which the freshman responds 'Okay. Where's the library at, as*h**e?'

Don’t think that the dems don’t know our seething anger is just about to blow. Jan 6 was an orchestrated effort to sideline any thoughts of the people taking their power back. Thanks to the hapless Republicans and the traitorous media, it worked…temporarily. I believe the Kyle Rittenhouse situation has upped the ante.

Maybe we should begin exercising our 2A rights while there is still time.

Red flag law. My ex and her lawyer accused me of everything when i was divorcing her. I was lucky to get out with my guns except one that went missing. She told my sheriff the last she saw it it was with me in a different county so i was told i needed to report it stolen in a different county from where it went missing. Accusations should be unactionable.

When the offal hits the fan, civilian military members will be a potential problem. Best to disarm as many as possible beforehand.

This is where the Red Flag law gets dangerous. You could have a beef with a neighbor or even an ex-wife who holds a grudge and they can turn you in because 'they fear you'. On their accusation your firearms can be taken away. Just claiming PTSD can get a military person's firearms confiscated this is Nazism in full display.

First thought was military would never allow this, and then thought what our military leadership looks like.
Disarm the military. Get rid of the police through defunding efforts and COVID mandates. Replace depleted police force with armed Antifa and BLM brownshirts.

The Founding Fathers knew what they were doing regarding the Bill of Rights and the 2A. They lived through it and fought for it. 2A is the fail safe mechanism and last stand against state tyranny for 'We the People.' The Left fears this more than any other ideology as it thwarts their agenda cold.
Why wouldn't the Left target those who are proficient in firearms and took an oath to "...support and defend the Constitution of the United States."

That sounds about as dangerous as anything I can think of today. Real cops know better. A lot of the real cops come from the ranks of the military.

#9, what you described has already happened to me, but not through "red flag" laws. A neighbor filed a "protective order"against me, claiming she was "afraid" of me, despite the fact that she wrote three letters to me hurling verbal abuse at me me. She then coaxed a neighbor to file a "protective order" against me. The latter made up a total lie about me, claiming I followed her. It was impossible, by the way, as my lawyer demonstrated that I was sitting in a chair getting my hair cut during the time she claimed that I followed her.
And it gets even weirder. The judge--despite the fact that I showed the court that I couldn't have followed the neighbor--said he "believed" my lying neighbor.
If a judge is going to dismiss your evidence, you don't have a prayer. Judges can be very arbitrary.
The neighbor who started this fight--the one who hurled verbal abuse--made it clear IN WRITING that she hated me because of my Catholic Christian faith.
Protective orders are NOT Constitutional. "Red flag" will be even worse.
We are all in serious danger. And it will ultimately be about our religious beliefs.

Speier should have drank the Kool-Aid back in Jonesboro.
Instead, she's been glugging the leftist/communist Democrat Party Kool-Aid for decades.

To think this democrat on the Armed Services Committee came up with this. No wonder this country is screwed. That bill is an abomination and to think 1/2 of the Americans agree with this.

Aren't active duty troops these days more worried about what makeup to wear on their time off than what gun to have?

First of all, presently local police can and do remove weapons from individuals for alleged domestic disputes if the law is on their Penal Codes or City procedural laws. This is just another stake in the heart of trying to dismantle the military. Another Communist step in destroying our country.

We already know what the Xiden administration thinks about parents who oppose "critical race theory:" Parents are "domestic terrorists." This means that any military member who disagrees with the Xiden regime will be viewed as a "domestic terrorist" and will automatically be accused of "domestic violence" ONLY because of their views. After all, we have been informed that "silence is violence." So even their silence will be interpreted as "violence." Lucifer causes people to lose their ability to critically think. Welcome to communism, the worldview straight from Hell.
