Donald Trump was bombarded with criticism on Tuesday for labeling late Secretary of State Colin Powell a 'RINO' who 'made plenty of mistakes' in a statement one day after Powell's death of COVID-19 complications at age 84. In an email full of mixed messages, Trump commented on the posthumous praise Powell has been receiving since Monday morning and said he hoped he'd get the same treatment 'one day.''Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media,' Trump said

the Daily Mail does it again ... making our President look like he's not all there well, they don't have to look any further than the imbecile who inhabits the White House because, he is DEFINITELY not all there. diapers is the most iconic lunkhead who has ever seen the inside of the political structures in D.C. but he can't take time out to go to the Southern Border where his ineptitude really shows

This is a perfect example of Trumps biggest problem. He always has something negative to say about anyone who disagrees with him. With the elections in NJ and Va so close he could have waited a few weeks to bring this up. Conservatives already knew this about Powell he didn’t have to rehash it now.

Why? Why does Trump do this over and over again?
It is all in the timing and his statement could not have more poorly timed nor less appropriate.

Powell was an opportunistic, self aggrandizing, back benching ruling class sycophant shilling ruling class crumbs.
The trumpets of hypocrisy are deafening.

You slamrods made it about Trump, because mentioning his name in your headlines is the only possibility of your getting any attention. Trump merely punched back, slammed you in the jaw, and you deserved it.

Exactly Trump's problem. Just shut up and 'Don't speak ill of the dead.'
He knows how to get things done but I hate the way he runs his mouth.

I voted for Trump and am appalled by Biden. That said, of what conceivable value is it to speak ill of the dead before they are even in the ground? It just makes the speaker look mean-spirited. Each time he does this, he hurts his chances at reelection in three years.

Just as attacks fro Satan prove there is a God, attacks from DM and other propagandist media prove that Trump is still our real President.

Can't Trump ever zip it? You never speak ill of the dead, but there he goes anyway. I wish he could be a little bit more charitable, even knowing his enemies will disparage him. I dont recall Reagan being vicious, mostly a sunny, even tempered man.

I cringed when I read Trump’s statement! Not necessary sir! Not the day after Powels death! Give people time to grieve! Totally tasteless and unnecessary! I will vote for him again but he must stop this tripe! He’s bigger than this!

Once again, President Trump spoke the truth, and called out the lie-beral media and Demon-Rats for the hypocrites they are top to bottom!!!
And, once again, the Daily Mail (which is a British rag sheet about 40 steps below the National Enquirer for journalistic integrity) has a hissy fit about it!!!
Another day, same BS!!!!
FJB!!!

Having been the recipient of Powell's vicious unwarranted venom and lies, can't say as I blame him.
Some folks really need to get their heads into present day reality and out of those long gone/never were Halcyon days of believing the Conservatism Inc contingency of the GOP (of which Powell was a Grand Poobah) ever gave a rats butt about any of us peasants.
You folks are playing by Marquess of Queensberry Rules but our Swampy opponents have switchblades, brass knuckles, and socks full of pennies under their overcoats.

Trump was right. I said the same thing here the morning Powells death was announced. I was brought up to not speak I'll of the dead, but the hypocrites on the left don't play by civilized rules, so why should President Trump and the rest of us? And for all the Karens here, clutching their pearls to their bosoms, just try to imagine what they'll say and how long they'll wait, if it was President Trump or Melania!

Regarding former President Donald Trump’s statements on the late General Colin Powell, I’m reminded of a line from the comic strip, “Ching Chow,” which was later changed to the more politically-correct, “Meet Mr. Luckey,” that goes:
“Wise is the fool, who knows what NOT to say.”

Powell was an Obama loving, race-card carrying douchenozzle. Schwarzkopf did the heavy lifting for Desert Storm, Powell was the politician trotted out for the cameras.
Trump calls it like it is. DM is perpetually butt hurt over that, and him.
