PARIS – Could delivering COVID-19 immunity directly to the nose — the area of the body via which it is most likely to be transmitted — help conquer the pandemic?
The World Health Organization says clinical trials are underway to evaluate eight nasal spray vaccines that target COVID-19.
The most advanced effort so far by China’s Xiamen University, the University of Hong Kong and Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy has completed phase-2 trials.
“When the virus infects someone it usually gets in through the nose,” said researcher Nathalie Mielcarek who is working with the Lille Pasteur Institute to develop a nasal spray vaccine against whooping cough.
Do you trust the Chinese?

There is an OTC and Amazon (of course) nasal spritz that kills covid in your nasal gallery on contact within 15 minutes. Tested at university of UT. It is WAY better than the gummint suggestion of 1% betadine in saline. Xlear. Look it up.

That is Karma, they create the disease and make money and power via the disease then they create the cure and make money off that.

This will only be allowed in America if Big Pharma and their minions can claim it *must* be used in conjunction with their "vaccines".

The virus can also be contracted through your eyes.

#1 nails it. I don't trust the ChiComs who have attacked us with this virus. But nasal sprays are a good path for research.

The Federal health establishment will put the kibosh on nasal spray if there is no mechanism for Dr Fauci to line his pockets via its utilization. This whole COVID_19 dog and pony show puts me in mind of Deep Throat's admonition in "All the President's Men": "Follow the Money."

When I was seeking possible research projects with scientific institutes in the former soviet states, I was presented a proposal for a research project with a readily available lab chemical which Ukrainian researchers in their Microbiology Institute in Kiev had tested as a nasal spray to prevent airborne viral infections. Take a nasal spray every 2 hours and you were protected from viruses inhaled through the nose. Super cheap stuff, too.
This chemical is FDA approved for humans for a different purpose, and shown to be safe in that testing at doses far higher than either the nasal spray or for internal use as an antiviral. After learning that it was tested to safe for human use by the FDA, it became clear that it would be impossible to obtain a patent as an antiviral, no matter how effective it was due to this prior use, Because of the inability to patent, no companies were interested in working with the Ukrainian microbiologists on this project. The Ukrainian research scientists continued on with near zero money, and I keep a supply of the material, now available OTC in Ukraine for viruses. I have it in my supplies against a possible viral infection of any type.
It is a protease inhibitor, so interferes with one of the many stages of the viral reproduction process. Look up the definition of protease inhibitor, for yourself.
I have toyed with discussing it with my doctor, but really am not terribly interested in getting too involved in this again. I spent considerable effort 12 years ago when I had a government contract to develop scientific projects with former soviet states, and I was advised that it was a dead end commercially. I have a supply, readily available for myself and family, obtained as a research lab chemical and have used it for years at the first sign of any cold, which is fairly rare for me, so not much used, really.
When I contacted one of my old colleagues in Ukraine in March 2020 on this current Wuhan virus, she said to keep this material handy and use it early if infected, and also suggested quercetin, an OTC dietary supplement which I had never heard of, as another protease inhibitor which was a bit less effective but could be helpful, too.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7318306
In the FDA approved use, it extends the life of clots, so is useful for post operative bleeding control where a clot has formed to seal an incision but the doc would like the clot to endure longer to continue the seal to permit more healing before the clot breaks down naturally. It does not increase clotting, it only stabilizes existing clots, an important distinction.
Here is a link to one of dozens of papers in the former soviet system on this chemical in it's viral reproduction inhibition role. Most work has been in Ukraine and Russia on this chemical for the antiviral role. Our generic drug situation prevents any US companies from having interest in spending the millions needed to get FDA approval for antiviral use, unfortunately, because it would immediately be a generic and they'd have no patent rights to recoup their investment.
I am not advising anyone on medical issues. But if you look at this paper, and seek others on your own, you may find some interesting information from Russian and Ukrainian sources on this material for antiviral uses. How you use that information, and how much you trust it, is entirely your choice. I know that 20 years ago I wouldn't have trusted Russian or Ukrainian scientists. Now that I know many, I trust some of them.
The chemical of interest is the first one in the title of the paper. Sorry to be so indirect, but I am not a doc, and not comfortable beyond pointing out interesting 'research topics' for others to follow if they so choose.

Sounds like a great idea to spray something up my nose manufactured by our enemy the Chinese that is purportedly designed to give me immunity against a bioweapon virus unleased by the Chinese against our country in the first place.
Where do I sign up for this wonder spray?

Let's trust the Chinese who lied about the virus to produce a nasal vaccine. Of course the results of the study will show the nasal spray was a huge success.

Two of these authors are friends. Victor was the leader of the project. Really interesting stuff, too bad our broken drug system won't ever let it become a life saver here. OTC in Ukraine.

Oh, for goodness sake. Nasal irrigation with plain old saline solution works wonders at keeping viruses and bacteria at bay. I do it twice a day. Nettie pits are great, as well. We don’t need to be pushing pharmaceuticals up our noses. Our bodies are designed to work in our favor. We just need to learn how to support our own natural immunity.
