When Jeff Bezos steps down Monday as Amazon’s CEO at age 57, he will carry with him an estimated $197 billion — a staggering fortune that is 739,489 times the median net worth of an American at age 65.That median net worth is $266,400, Business Insider reported, citing data from the Federal Reserve.Amazon announced in February that Bezos would step down this year and assume the mantle of executive chairman of the e-commerce giant’s board.
He is expected to dedicate more time toward initiatives like the Bezos Earth Fund, his Blue Origin spaceship company, The Washington Post and the Amazon Day 1 Fund, CNBC reported.

He built something from nothing that almost everyone uses because it's great for the consumer.
He got mega rich doing it.
Boo hoo.
I think he's a jerk for other reasons but I don't begrudge him his earned wealth.

Joe, Bernie, AOC, LIzzie Warren, etc - who have never built anything - want to take his wealth away and give it to other non-producers and/or overpaid incompetent union employees (teachers, government employees, and the like)

Bezos' stepping down to devote all his time to destroying the world and bringing down the wrath of God. I also don't begrudge him his wealth from an idea to something people need, but men think their money makes them God. It's not enough to run a successful business or two or three; they have to run the world.

Didn't he become very rich by effectively acting as an agent for the sale of products made by others? In any case, he has a lot of money to play with, and this itself can become a time-consuming worry. I've always thought that a nice home and a couple of others as an investment are sufficient but if he's going to be building spaceships then that's a different form of real estate altogether....

And, yet, he still felt the need to take a picture of his male parts and send it to a stranger.

His wealth is a little misleading. It’s in Amazon stock. If he ever tried to liquidate mass holdings the stock price would tumble as would his net worth . That said I’m sure he is not clipping coupons.

Like him or not, that's how capitalism works. I don't hate the rich, I want to be rich too.

How could anyone amass such wealth without holding public office? I thought only Democrat office holders were supposed to have that kind of wealth!

Bezos created 739,489 more wealth than the median American. Everyone had the opportunity to create an Amazon, but only Bezos did it. I remember Bezos in the 1990's, still laughing, and broke.
