President Joe Biden delivered an infamous gun control speech last week, claiming that Americans “need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons” if they want to restrain government tyranny. Yet he also used a flat-out lie to justify his gun control agenda — a lie that led even The Washington Post to deliver Biden a scathing rebuke.
“The Second Amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn’t buy a cannon,” Biden declared last Wednesday.
The Washington Post‘s Glenn Kessler fact-checked this statement, giving Biden a whopping Four Pinocchios.
He's been telling that same lie for years now. He was spouting that crap back when he was a scuzzbag Senator pushing his endless gun control agenda.
The real question here is, why is WaPoop tossing him under the bus, now? They could have done this during the primaries, or years before. They are certainly no friend of the 2A, so why now?

Why is anyone shocked that the lie-beral MSM is starting to turn on biden?!?!?!?
Seriously, we are almost at the 6 month stolen reign of not-my-president Lyin' Joe biden. At this point, the MSM was supposed to start turning on him. That makes is easier for not-my-VP Matressback Whorish to start the process of deposing biden using the 25th amendment. Expect more and more attacks on his mental status as the next few weeks go by. So when she does start to implement the 25 amendment, everyone will go "yeah, we have been reading a lot about his mental condition, so we understand"!!!

I decided that I didn't need an F-15 for personal protection. I went for an A-10 Warthog. Better against ground targets, of which there will be many.
Got that, NSA? AG Garland?

In fact, many private militias DID own a cannon or two. A whole battery of six cannon was so expensive that only with a very wealthy sponsor could a private militia afford the cannons, carriages, caissons and horses to move them. Six cannon, two horses each. Six caissons, two horses each, so you needed 24 horses in addition to the cannon and ammo, for a battery.
A private artillery battery was somewhat rare because, in addition to the high cost of the cannon themselves and associated equipment and many horses, they were prodigious consumers of powder, plus cannon balls cost a lot. One of the smaller cannon, the six pounder, normally burned around 1 1/4 lbs of powder. A single small cannon could use the equivalent of the powder for 10,000 musket shots in one engagement, firing perhaps 50 or 60 times. A battery of six of them.....yikes.
They were rare because of cost, there was nothing illegal about them.
In fact, you can own a Civil War era cannon today, no problem. Still expensive to own and shoot.

#3, bravo. I was lucky enough to fly the mighty Aardvark. At Red Flag, very few [as in 'no'] Eagles managed to get 'in range' indication while we were strolling along at 1.4 on the deck.
The WaPo is, too late, realizing what a steaming load old Gropey Pervy Joe really is. Bear in mind that the Post has never, and I mean EVER, endorsed a Republican for any office.

These statements of Biden seem like a threat to citizens and I find it very scary.

#3, I have a couple of AIM-9 Sidewinders in the basement that I could let go of for the right price.

Well, gee, Joe. Guess you’ve never seen a Civil War reenactment. Back in the 1980’s hubby and I were part of a Civil War reenactment Union artillery unit and the unit had its very own real 10 pounder Parrot rifle - a cannon which fires 10 pound cannon balls. Of course, we fired blanks at reenactments but occasionally we would trailer the cannon out to a deserted spot on the Chesapeake Bay and fire large ball bearings out into the water.
Perhaps he could also check out Revolutionary War reenactments too. Or French and Indian or any other war which gets reenacted.

Oh my goodness! I hope the Constitution doesn't forbid the ownership of cannon towels.
I have dozens of them!

In addition to the satisfaction and encouragement of reading the thoughts of like---and right---minded posters, it is a privilege to encounter the information provided by knowledgeable posters such as Delta Victor Charlie. I here address no one in particular. LOL

#4 is correct. My area has to Civil War reenactments every year. Fun to hear the cannons. Even at a 50% powder load and nothing in the barrel the sound would wake the dead. It must have been hell on earth during a real battle with dozens of cannons continuously firing.

AFAIK, no actual F-15s in private hands. But, if the Thug-In-Charge really want to cause some sort of a CW2.0, remember that National Guards report to the governor of their state, and they DO have lots of jets, and probably even some F-15s, and all the folks who know how to drive and fix those beasties.
And if you go to Oshkosh for the big airshow, you will see many privately owned 'warbirds', former fighter and bomber aircraft flying. Jets are relatively few, but there are a few dozen privately owned jet fighters and attack aircraft, some have been there in the past. The Czech L-39 is one of the more common and affordable ones to buy and operate, still a jet, although intended as a trainer. Trainers have a a special attraction for private owners, because they like to take a friend up for a ride. Single seaters are less fun that way.
And even John Travolta used to own an old British jet fighter. I remember thinking "this will tell us if he is actually any good as a pilot", because if he isn't he'll be dead soon enough. He survived and is apparently a skilled pilot.
Biden was an idiot before his brain crapped out.

And I mentioned letters of marque and privateers in a different thread on this topic of ignorant comment by The Chief Fool. Couldn't have a warship without cannon, too.
