The 'Fourth Turning Crisis' Has Arrived

Very sobering article about our inevitable and difficult near-term future.

I've never thought much of the whole "turnings" analysis. I am scared out of my wits by Millennials and those that follow. Most of what comes out of their mal-educated mouths as unquestionable truth is unconstitutional and totalitarian. The metrics cited by the article do not give me much hope for the nation.

I saw this coming especially with the deterioration of our schools and the educating of our young these past few years. Then last year with the pandemic, I knew we were in trouble. The stealing of the election was the final nail. Unless something happens quickly to turn this ship around, the next few years are going to be difficult. Although, as an optimist, we will get through it. What I'm most concerned about is our grid being attacked, black outs and lack of water in the Western States. If the enemy can inflict a contagious virus on the world, they can do a lot more. Be prepared. Prayers are powerful and miracles will happen and I truly believe the Holy Spirit will be walking with us every step of the way. Reminds me of that beautiful poem Footsteps in the Sand.

What is "freedom" these days? The Millennials have largely been denied freedom from birth. They have been shielded from "hurt" by helicopter parents and a denial of their own space in which to experience and grow. Schools teach "values" at the demand of parents too busy to raise their children. And then horror...not the values one expected. You have freedom of thought and speech unless it's "hate", recently spelled MAGA. You follow science and government's edicts without question or risk shunning and ridicule. Everyone is "equal" until something is asked of them involving skill, talent, or action. Mediocrity is "equality." The public reminds me of some pheasants released on my parents' farm. Tossed out of their cages the birds all stood around looking for a way back in. Looked like today's "stimulated" America.

Here's the problem. The socialists, liberals, democrats, atheists etc al have been laying the ground work for the demise of the Republic for decades. Constitutionalists have largely been on defense, engaging delaying tactics, enabling or demise through compromise and acquiescence. We have played by the rules and the left has used that against us.

FTA:"Our nation has experienced existential upheaval during the American Revolution, the Civil War, and the Great Depression and World War II together." Given what my generation, Boomers born in the mid-to-late 1950s was handed by those before us I believe it is just as bad or even worse, to sit back and do nothing while the greatest country ever to exist, the one we did not build but inherited, is being torn down by our generation's organic communists than it is to do the actual tearing.

I read "The Fourth Turning" way back when. I found it very interesting. As to its predictions, I found myself in a wait-and-see mode. Still hoping Millennials (now in their mid-20s to late 30s) will come through, but that hope is fading.

An interesting article. There is a site call Freerepublic that has a very lengthy discussion about this very thing. I read the site but can’t get behind a lot of the “rabid” type solutions some people post nor the control some there want to impose on people. Read at your own risk😬 History can teach a lot if one reads it and can draw correlations to our current political and social schisms. We, the people of this country, look to those who present themselves as leaders for solutions to problems. But we are in a time where partisan politics makes it seem impossible to find solutions both sides agree on. Each wants control and casts the other side as rabid demons from he** bent on destruction of the American way...as defined by the offended party of course. Trump merely tapped into the desire of people for the govt to work for the people and seemingly against them. His biggest contribution was to show this country that if you weren’t in the elite power group you were going to be shut out and cast out. If people got nothing else from Trump they should have seen just how out of touch and how dismissive out elected officials are. Yet I will wager that come the mid term elections that many, if not all, federal legislators will be re-elected. Why...because most Americans don’t really follow politics, they only know the name, if they are lucky, of their Congress critter, and are to busy working, raising a family and trying to make some kind of life for themselves. It’s only a small percentage of people, such as those who post here, that actually follow politics and have an idea of the lack of viable, honest, trustworthy leadership that we don’t have.
