Phil Mickelson won the 2021 PGA Championship on Sunday at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina. In doing so, the 50-year-old Mickelson became the oldest to win a major. The win was Mickelson’s sixth career major, and his second PGA Championship. Mickelson also won the PGA Championship in 2005 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J. His other major wins include the Masters (2004, 2006, 2010) and British Open (2013).Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka chased Mickelson in Sunday’s final round but finished tied for second, two strokes back. According to ESPN, Mickeslon “hadn’t won since 2019 at Pebble Beach,

Phil seems to be a good guy. I'm happy for him. He's still playing well for his age because he got himself into great physical shape to compete with Tiger Woods and it's still paying off for him.

I was glad to see Phil win. Great golfer!
Did you notice the crowd? Huge. No masks. People are sick of the Faux Fauci Flu. People want to be free to attend an event and have fun.
Great win. Best and wildest golf crowd ever.

In the 2009 Open Championship at Turnberry in Scotland Tom Watson, only days from his 60th birthday, needed a par on the 72nd hole to win his sixth Open Championship. He made bogey, and Stewart Cink won the four hole playoff. It was always going to take something exceptional to beat Mr. Boros's 1968 record as the oldest major championship winner. I'm so proud of Phil Mickelson for breaking that barrier.
One reason why golf is the greatest game of all (in the words of Mr. Nicklaus) is that men in early middle age are still capable of world class play, still capable of the magic they cultivated as young players, still capable of beating anyone in the world.
One correction of the record: The PGA Championship has one of the strongest fields in all of championship golf, but the field's twenty or so club pros weaken it to below the quality of the Player's, where everyone is an exempt member of the PGA Tour. That's always been a pet peeve of mine. Even the best club pros cannot stay with their Tour brothers for all four rounds.

The crowd reminded me of Arnie’s Army only after a few beers! Great win by Phil who the golfing fans love! One for the ages.

I guess the seniors tour will have to wait a while longer to see Phil out there.
Not sure why, but I’m not a Koepka fan, so I was really pulling for Phil. So glad he held it together.

The usual liberal media will not lead with Phils' win, but the horrible example Neanderthal DeSantos put forth as exhibited by all the folks not wearing mask and not observing Socialist Distancing. Tomorrow's headlines and for weeks to come will be the Super Spreader event allows by Rebublican DeSantos.

Meant to add that I am a big fan of Louis Oosthuizen. He now has 4 runners up trophies (all but the British Open, which he won in 2010). He seems to always be there quietly lurking.

Mickelson was good but he was also lucky. Because he played his first round early on Thursday (-5) he got in ahead of the real windy conditions that eliminated DJ and some of the best power golfers in the world who never broke par and missed the cut on Friday. His final score of -6 (well down from his -10 peak) was a nail biter and made for some good TV.

Congrats to “old” Phil. That crowd reminded me of the crowds cheering President Trump.
