A few months back, several counties in far-left Oregon began an effort to secede from the state and become part of Idaho. Now they have voted for it. It’s not a done deal yet, but they are off to a strong start. These are simply people who are tired of being associated with the radical left-wing politics of Portland. The Hill reports:Oregon counties vote to secede to IdahoVoters in five rural Oregon counties approved measures on Tuesday to consider joining the state of Idaho, a part of a long-shot grassroots movement to break with a state dominated by liberal voters west of the Cascade Mountains.

This could get fun! Go ahead and make DC a state. We can make states too! Texas can do 5, Calif a couple more and who knows what other deeply divided states would consider splitting.

Will the state of Oregon allow it? Doubtful. They want their tax revenue. Will the feds allow it? Doubtful.
They will side with the lefties running Oregon into the ground. Good luck. You will need it. I truly hope you are successful.

In the 80s, the idea was first proposed to have eastern Washington and Oregon form a state called Lincoln. I hope it happens.
In the 90s, some proposed CA split into three states, although that idea comes up every so often but goes nowhere.
I think the state of Lincoln has more of a chance than does a republic of Texas.

It would be good if they can make it work, but I'll bet that the thugs on the coast will never let go. They need the taxes from these counties, and someone to make miserable.

I wish my county had joined. They maybe waiting to see what retribution Kate will dish out for trying to usurpe her reign. Portland population dense mob clapped their hands this last election and Kate crowed of her super majority so she can finally get things done, like mandating trigger locks in locked Gun cases of non loaded firearms. She also tried to mandate that congresspersons who flee the state to try to stall votes will be jailed. That is our only conservative recourse since there is no room to compromise in their world.

Wow! Just think what can happen. Counties in IL can move into Indiana or Missouri. Michigan can move into, well not sure where they can go! I just know we in FL don't want ANY people from other Counties because we got Thousands from Up North during the Pandemic. We have our share now! I sure don't blame those folks trying to get out of Oregon. Portland is a Hell Hole right now!

On another site that posted this story it was mentioned that the Feds in WDC have to approve any state re-alignment. What law or USSC ruling requires the Feds to be involved?

Can this be done in reverse?
If so, I will lead an initiative to vote Milwaukee into Illinois, and Madison into Minnesota-stan.
Eldest brother just abandoned San Diego after 45 years and moved to Boise.

Somebody has to quit with the "mother may I" and just do it. The system is broken and persecuting you, but you can't join another state because the system won't give permission? That makes hella sense.

What does Idaho think about this? Has anyone bothered to ask Idaho?

There was some talk, years ago, of the upper peninsula of Michigan separating and becoming The Superior State. Reliably red, it would counter the fraud in Detroit. And, I think I would move there.
There was a meme I saw last year. God was seen walking in the Upper Peninsula and when asked what he was doing there, He answered, "With the lockdowns, I'm working from home." It's that nice.

It is indeed, #15. Longtime friends of ours pastor a church there. It is like Mayberry and full of wonderful patriots!!!
I hope these counties fight to the end fearlessly until they succeed becoming part of Idaho. I hope the Republic of Texas could come to be but I am not sure it can happen with as many Bush Inc people run things. If we can replace them with MAGA folks, I believe it is possible!!!!
