The uncle of Robert “Bobby” Crimo III — the person of interest in Highland Park’s 4th of July parade mass shooting — said there were no signals that his 22-year-old nephew would carry out such carnage.
“There were no signs that I saw that would make him do this,” Paul Crimo told CNN in a Monday night interview after his nephew was taken into custody in connection to the shooting.
Robert Crimo was described as a recluse by his uncle and others who knew him, including neighbors and former classmates.
Police said at a press conference announcing the arrest it is believed Robert Crimo was responsible for the hail of bullets

The man suspected of killing six people and wounding more than a dozen others during a July 4th parade in Highland Park is a Donald Trump-supporting rapper with a seemingly-successful music career.
Robert 'Bobby' Crimo III, 22, goes by the moniker, Awake the Rapper, in his music career. According to his Spotify page, he boasts more than 16,000 listeners per month and has a net worth of $100,000.
The rap career has taken on a chilling relevance in the wake of the shooting.
Music videos posted by Crimo online last fall include a drawing of himself shooting people online, and a disturbing clip of himself throwing bullets

President Joe Biden celebrated Independence Day on Monday, but expressed disappointment about ongoing gun violence and the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“Liberty is under assault, both here and abroad,” he said, alluding to the Supreme Court. “In recent days, there’s been reason to think this country is moving backward, that freedom is being reduced, that rights we assumed were protected are no longer.”
The president delivered a speech to the American people from the White House as part of a barbecue with military service members.

A red flag law, a waiting period for gun purchases, licensing requirements, and numerous other gun controls did not prevent the July 4, 2022, Highland Park attack.
Mike Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety lists Illinois as the state with the sixth most stringent gun laws in the country.
Moreover, Gabby Giffords gun control group gives Illinois a grade of A- on gun control.
Illinois has a red flag law, a waiting period for gun purchases, gun owner licensing, domestic violence gun laws, “open carry regulations,” and numerous other gun controls.
The gun owner licensing is done via Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) cards.

President Trump on Monday responded to RINO Liz Cheney’s interview with ABC’s Jon Karl in which she suggested the January 6 Committee will recommend charges against Trump.
Trump ripped Cheney in a July 4 post to his Truth Social page.
“Warmongering and despicable human being Liz Cheney, who is hated by the great people of Wyoming (down 35!), keeps saying, over and over again, that HER Fake Unselect Committee may recommend CRIMINAL CHARGES against a President of the United States who got more votes than any sitting President in history.

Everyone yearns to be free. Freedom of choice — free agency — is a divine gift we each receive at birth. It is part of our human nature and it is our ever-present desire. As Thomas Jefferson put it, “the God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time.” Liberty is indispensable to each person’s self-fulfillment and progress. Nowhere but here was a government instituted to the end that the individual’s rights and sovereignty — liberty — would be guaranteed against, and protected from, the state. Government was to be our servant. Liberty was to be the very definition of America, its heart and soul.

The principal at a New York City high school who was accused of trying to oust white teachers is facing backlash from students who say that her leadership has created a “miserable” environment of “utter disorganization and insanity” as a result of “super underqualified” teachers and staff members and that they fear for their safety.
Paula Lev who presides over the High School for Law and Public Service in the city’s Washington Heights area came under fire last year for her discrimination against white teachers, leading to a probe by the NYC Department of Education after she allegedly told a faculty member that she “was going to get rid of

Police are investigating damage to property at a church in Madison, Wisconsin, that was evidently perpetrated by a pro-abortion group.
“St. Bernard Catholic Church’s front door and signage were damaged by graffiti, which contained ‘anti-pro-life and anti-police’ messages, according to officers,” WMTV reported Saturday.
The messages were scrawled across the front door and entrance in blue spray paint.
Photos showed the graffiti read, “Pro Life My [blurred] Let’s Talk About All The Native Kids You’ve Killed”: (Tweet)

'I know it can be exhausting and unsettling,' Biden said , speaking to military families and standing alongside First Lady Jill Biden in the South Lawn. 'But tonight, I want you to know: We're going to get through all of this.'

Sen. Mitt Romney penned a Fourth of July op-ed for The Atlantic warning Americans that they're failing to confront serious challenges and that they need to wake up.
'President Joe Biden is a genuinely good man, but he has yet been unable to break through our national malady of denial, deceit, and distrust,' Romney writes. 'A return of Donald Trump would feed the sickness, probably rendering it incurable.'
The opinion piece is entitled, 'America Is in Denial,' with Romney pointing to issues like climate change, the border crisis and rising inflation that are getting ignored by large swaths of the population,
