While Senate Republican leaders have so far followed a hands-off policy plan for the midterms, Sen. Rick Scott is forging ahead with his own platform for the GOP if they retake Congress next year. The first-term Florida Republican and chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee released an 11-point plan through Politico on Tuesday. 'Americans deserve to know what we will do when given the chance to govern,' he said. The agenda includes a mix of classic Republican priorities - shrinking the federal government and enacting national voter ID laws - and culture war measures, such as declaring that there are 'two genders,'

"Americans deserve to know what we will do when given the chance to govern,' he said." It's nice to have some talk, but why should we expect anything different from what they did the past 2 times the GOP had the presidency, the House, and the Senate? Nothing.

Headline next week, "First term Senator found hung in his jail cell. Guards were asleep, cameras weren't working. Investigators declared suicide and closed case".

First step for the Republicans is to differentiate themselves from the Democrats. Second step is to really mean it by following through on what they propose.
Not holding my breath but liking what I see so far.
Go Rick Scott! He's my new Senator. What a difference from Schumer and Gillibrand.

Yo, Rick, good start but I am more interesting in completing the wall and closing the border. The name is meaningless. Mexico no longer does anything useful for us since I gave up Corona.

#4, first step for the Republicans should be to replace their swamp creature "leadership " in the Congress with people who will honor the Constitution and work for the American people.

Rick Scott is corrupt. As much as I would like a person in his position to take a lead with this kind of initiative, he is not the proper one to do it.

Re: Anti-Republicans: On this site, you are flirting with alienating the majority here that vociferously support Top Republican, Donald Trump. He's also a party-changing politician, although some folks still deny it.

Breaks ranks? If you send money to Rick Scott's National Republican Senatorial Committee it will still be spent to nominate McConnell bots in Republican primaries.

McConnell does not have a plan other than doing nothing. Scott has done a go around and disclosed his ideas. I support the GOP disclosing what they are going plan to do.

This will flush out the RINOs. Note Mitch's "non-committal" response.
#7 et al: click the Politico link in the article. Securing the border is #4 on the list.

When I was a teenager my Bible study leader asked a simple question; "If Jesus came to this class would He be accepted?" and in another class he asked "If you were to be put on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?"....
It is plainly clear that the GOPe/RINOs will fight tooth and nail and POCKET BOOK to disavow or to ruin ANY ATTEMPT made by any person who is elected to the Senate to stop doing what they are doing now
If Ronaldus Magnus were elected to the Senate, he would find very few who would return to the BEDROCK values of fighting against higher taxes, lowering the size and scope of government intrustion into the citiezen's lives, securing the border, and from all this cultural overthrow of standing up for families and protecting the country from financial ruin.
Yertel the Turtle would not welcome Ronald Reagan, and would find him guilty of attemtping to stop the compromised and corrupt gravy train he enjoys because he has been caught "Red Handed" and the guilty always try to attack the innocent.
Time to clean the muck out of the Senate, starting with the RINOs who are useless and despise the grass roots who care about the world their children and grandchildren will inherit because of their corruption and looking out for #1
