Prince Andrew is today under severe pressure to settle with Virginia Roberts Giuffre after a New York judge sensationally refused to throw out her case - paving the way for a box office trial in nine months to examine claims she was repeatedly forced to have sex with him when she was a teenager. The decision is a devastating blow to the Duke of York, who now faces a hugely expensive and reputation-shredding court case next September unless he tries to pay-off Ms Giuffre with at least $5million.If he chooses not to settle, or if Ms Giuffre rejects any offers, Andrew faces being interviewed by her lawyers

"Additionally, he could simply ignore the case and let the court give a decision in his absence, although this would be likely to damage his reputation further."
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that that ship has sailed a long time ago. His only reputation is as a pervert loser. But as long as the royals keep giving him money, and he can live a comfortable life, I seriously doubt he really cares!!!

Talk about a useless appendage on the body politic, that's the British royal family.

What was the age of consent? No matter how distasteful most may find it, isn't the left always harping on about their definition of victimless crimes?

Poster #8, about a week ago someone here said something about royalty and I sure wish I had marked it for future reference to give them the credit. But they said...'Say what you will about France, but they sure knew how to take care of royalty.'

I spent some time in Barbados in the early 1980's on business. Prince Andrew was on a Royal Navy vessel at the time which frequently put into Barbados on port call. He was known to all islanders as "Randy Andy." His shenanigans on leave were legendary amongst the locals. Prime Minister Tom Adams told several of us over a drink that Prince Andrew was a disgrace to the royal family.

Andrew does not have to answer this suit or talk to Ms. Giuffre’s lawyers at all. The judge could then issue an equitable settlement against Andrew. As long as he stays in the UK the whole suit may turn out to be a fool’s effort. In the USA, defendants who loose a civil suit cannot be sentenced to jail or prison. Ms. Giuffre looked pretty happy in the photo with Andrew’s arm around her.
Anyway, how could Andrew tell the difference between a 17 year old female from an 18 year old female?

Lawsuit. No legal action by the prosecutors, of course.
