SACRAMENTO, Calif.— With more than two dozen states poised to ban abortion if the U.S. Supreme Court gives them the OK next year, California clinics and their allies in the state Legislature on Wednesday revealed a plan to make the state a “sanctuary” for those seeking reproductive care, including possibly paying for travel, lodging and procedures for people from other states. The California Future of Abortion Council, made up of more than 40 abortion providers and advocacy groups, released a list of 45 recommendations for the state to consider if the high court overturns Roe v. Wade — the 48-year-old decision that forbids states from outlawing abortion.

Yeah, that will work out well. Especially since California would probably offer free abortion paid for by the state and probably offer free transportation and lodging to out of state "abortion tourists."

A sickening perversion of the word "sanctuary".

This is how ignorant Leftists are. If Roe is “overturned” abortion will still be legal in states that have legalized it. At the time of the Roe decision in 1973 several states had eliminated all criminal penalties for abortion. Roe was nothing more than a national business license for the abortion industry by threatening to overturn any state law that criminalized abortion.
The Left is 98% absurd theater.

California was the abortion mecca before Roe. I had a 15 year old friend who was flown to California in 1972 for an abortion. It messed up her life for a long time.

When your entire state is one strong earthquake away from falling into the Pacific Ocean, I'm not sure I would give God this great of an excuse to make that happen!!!

I didn't know that provision was in the law. How has it been left in place when that phrase alone makes it unconstitutional?

So that's what happened to the Left. They killed their best and brightest and now what was left alive is the dirt.

Go to Cali to kill your baby and as an added bonus you might get attacked by homeless, carjacked, robbed, stuck with a needle or slip in poop.

Will California be settling up Abortion Resorts? I can see it now, "come to NAPA VALLEY for an abortion and some wine". Will their license plates say Abortion Wonderland? Why would anywhere want to be proud of promoting and supporting the murder of unborn, and sometimes born babies?

Abortion is murder but if the left insists on doing it then killing off their own spawn at least places the consequences on their own doorstep.

As #17 posted. It’s called the “Roe Effect”. Let’s go further and mandate that anybody voting Democrat be forcibly neutered.

We live in a high capacity magazine sanctuary.
We're thinking of retiring to the income tax sanctuary of Florida or Nevada.
At one point, we lived in the homelessness sanctuary of North Dakota. You don't get many street people at -10 degrees.

Before Roe, women traveled to California and New York for abortions. This is nothing new.

I wouldn't be surprised at that. Eventually we may be able to bring the right to life to those conceived even in blue states, but not for the foreseeable future. At least we have a very good chance to let states individually extend that right.

Leave it to the Ass. Press to refer to killing your baby as "reproductive care". Straight out of Orwell.
