For the first time, officially communist Vietnam has taken delivery five T6-C Texan trainer aircraft from the US. Seven more are on order. According to a report in the Eurasia Times, this acquisition could put Vietnam in line to buy F-16 jets from the US, of which there have been reports since October last year. The Texan trainer is commonly used by the US Air Force to train pilots for advanced jets like the F-16. Vietnam has until now bought only Russian military hardware and its air force is known to deploy 35 SU-30 fighter jets and older Su-22s.

They have had all out wars with China after the US withdrawal. Not a bad idea to help them prepare for another China attack.

The link to the F-16 is a big stretch. The T6-C is 75-year-old technology meant to teach new pilots the bare basics of flying.

Alaska’s open primary and ranked choice voting system survived, while Republican U.S. House candidate Nick Begich defeated Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola, according to the unofficial results released on Wednesday. The Alaska Division of Elections completed the ranked choice tabulations for all nine races in which no candidate received more than 50% of first-preference ballots. The division is targeting Nov. 30 as the date by which it will certify the results. There will be another tabulation completed then. Until that is completed, the results are unofficial, although unlikely to change.

NASA staff are calling on Elon Musk to 'clean house' as it is revealed the agency blew millions of taxpayer money on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. Spending reports from 2020 to 2024 showed NASA awarded grants to universities and consulting firms to support 'environmental justice' and initiatives that 'embrace greater diversity and inclusive practices.' LMI consulting received over $2 million in 2023 for NASA to 'embark on a venture to incorporate and deeply engrain diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in the culture and business.'

Donald Trump’s thumping re-election threatens to upend the business of an industry he’s sworn to protect: Big Oil. Should his incoming administration follow through on plans to once again pull the United States out of the landmark 2015 Paris climate agreement—as a way to loosen regulations on fossil fuel companies—it could actually end up hurting companies like Exxon Mobil, according to the oil giant’s CEO. (snip) The Exxon Mobil boss was in Azerbaijan to attend COP29 in Baku, the second straight time that a city rich from exploiting its fossil fuel deposits played host to the United Nations climate conference after Abu Dhabi last year.

President-elect Donald Trump's promise to unleash a big oil boom in the US and lower gas prices is running up against a market reality: The world is already awash in fossil fuels. ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods told Semafor on November 12 that while he wants to maintain US oil production at its current highs, the market is already well supplied. "I don't think today that production in the US is constrained," he said. "I don't know that there's an opportunity to unleash a lot of production in the near term."

Shayetet 13 commandos landed in the coastal city of Batroun in northern Lebanon and captured a Hezbollah operative, Arab media reported, and a military official confirmed on Saturday evening. The operative was transferred to Israeli territory and is being investigated by Unit 504, the military official noted. Axios reporter Barak Ravid later reported on X/Twitter that an Israeli official confirmed the operation. The terrorist captured, Emad Fadel Amhaz, is a senior member of Hezbollah, according to Al-Hadath. Reports also stated that he is part of the Lebanese Navy. Amhaz was arrested to be questioned about Hezbollah’s naval operations, the official told Ravid.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization receives funding in various ways, both overt and covert. Iran, Hezbollah's main patron, plays a significant role in financing the terror group. According to reports, Iran delivers hundreds of thousands of dollars to Hezbollah annually and also supplies it with weapons. Hezbollah, however, doesn't rely solely on Tehran. The organization has realized the need to diversify its funding sources for various reasons, including U.S. sanctions on Iran. It has done so successfully, mainly via money laundering, arms trading, drugs and tobacco.

The death of Yahya Sinwar, mastermind of the October 7, 2023, massacre and head of Hamas’s political bureau, marks a turning point in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israeli forces eliminated Sinwar, who had orchestrated Hamas’s insurgency in Gaza since his 2011 release from prison during the Gilad Shalit prisoner swap. Sinwar’s removal disrupts Hamas’s leadership and raises critical questions about the effectiveness of past ceasefire demands and concessions. Ceasefires aim to halt violence and open paths to dialogue. Yet militant groups like Hamas have exploited these pauses to regroup, rearm, and strengthen their positions.

CBS News' recent directive instructing staff to avoid referring to Jerusalem as part of Israel in reports has caused outrage in Israel and in the United States. The channel recently instructed its staff not to refer to Jerusalem as part of Israel, citing its internationally disputed status. This directive, aimed at "maintaining neutrality in covering the Gaza conflict," has sparked controversy among Jewish employees and Israeli officials, who argue that it undermines the U.S.'s official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The centralized nations of Libya, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen have been torn to pieces. Irrespective of the failure of America and its partners concerning events in Iraq and Libya, the nations of Egypt, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and others have collectively funded various nations and proxies in endless wars (low intensity to high-level conflicts). On top of this, Iran utilizes Hezbollah in Lebanon aimed at Israel – and Islamic terrorist groups kill the Shia in the name of sectarianism (while also persecuting non-Muslim religious minorities). The three-judge United Nations Dispute Tribunal ruled that evidence “clearly and convincingly” shows that Vitaly Vanshelboim’s misconduct “caused massive financial losses” by the U.N. Office for Project Services, which says it provides infrastructure, procurement and project management services and is known as UNOPS. Vanshelboim facilitated multiple financial deals between the U.N. office and British businessman David Kendrick focusing on renewable energy, sustainable housing and the oceans.

Johnston, who is doubling down on his sanctuary city agenda, openly encouraged protests and even civil disobedience, framing his resistance as a moral crusade. During a recent interview with Denverite, Johnston unveiled his audacious plan to transform Denver into what he called a “fortress of resistance” against federal immigration efforts. His strategy includes mobilizing Denver police officers and thousands of residents to form human barricades to block federal authorities from carrying out deportations.

Climate activists responded to the proposed contribution with outrage, claiming the sum is “paltry” and “a joke.” COP29 — formally the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) — is the 19th edition of the U.N.’s official assembly to discuss how to globally address the alleged climate crisis. Former President Clinton suggested Democrats need to find a better way to relate to people, as the party searches for answers amid Republicans securing control of the House, Senate and White House. “Politics is the only business in which you can prove your authenticity by not knowing anything. You know, and I think that’s a problem, and we’ll pay for it unless we get over it, but that’s a problem for the Democrats too. We have to learn to talk to people in ways that they can relate to that explains that,” Clinton said in an interview airing this weekend on MSNBC’s “The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart.”

One of the most racist, anti-conservative talking liberal heads is at it again with the hateful rhetoric aimed at Trump supporters. MSNBC’s Joy Reid claimed on Friday that people have a legitimate fear of MAGA supporters and do not feel “safe” around them in a doomsday video message. Reid told her fellow liberals they had a right to be scared of President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet choices. “He's put together a cabinet of horrors! People are afraid; they're not just mad because they lost an election,” she said. Without giving a reason, Reid warned the small amount of viewers she had left that Republicans were going to “control everything.”
