Act and ‘Clinton's sock drawer’ defense

If you believe the most ardent defenders of newly indicted former president Donald Trump, there’s a silver bullet hiding in Bill Clinton’s sock drawer. The reference to Clinton’s socks,[Snip]stems from a 13-year-old case in which the right-leaning nonprofit Judicial Watch sought access to 79 audio tape recordings of Clinton interviews conducted by the historian Taylor Branch while Clinton was in office.[Snip]Clinton designated the recordings as personal records, not official presidential records, that were therefore not required to be turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration under the Presidential Records Act. Judicial Watch sued over that designation,

Comments:

Judicial Watch argued the tapes contained Bill Clinton’s conversations with foreign leaders that included classified information. Trial Judge Amy Berman Jackson (appointed by Barack Obama) ruled that even if the “personal records” should have been labeled as “presidential records” the National Archives could not be ordered to reclassify them due to the Presidential Records Act which “does not confer any mandatory or even discretional authority on the archivist. Under the statute, this responsibility is left solely to the president.” Taking it to a different level, “national security experts” argue the documents “have classification markings and contain information relating to the national defense” which involves the Espionage Act.

George Soros is a Bad Hombre. He is an evil genius who made a fortune breaking the Bank of England in the 1990s and has since used his investing success to endow a self-sustaining anti-Western, anti-Israel, anti-American activist ecosystem with tens of billions of dollars to carry on their effort to open borders and destroy nation states for generations after Soros is gone.[Snip]Newsweek senior editor-at-large Josh Hammer and Missouri Attorney General candidate Will Scharf have launched “Jews Against Soros.” Their new website says: “There is nothing antisemitic about identifying the many ways that George Soros and his network of organizations fund the radical left.

"Where there's a will, there's a way" is an old and familiar quotation, often attributed to Albert Einstein, who was on to something almost as significant as E=MC2. What if there is no will, is there still a way? It doesn't seem likely.[Snip]Everyone with an intellect lower than Einstein's knows what should be done. A good accountant could come to Washington and fix everything, but the accountant would not be seeking re-election or in need of contributors and the support of his or her base.[Snip]There is no one to blame except the people who keep electing the politicians who have burdened us with this debt problem.

Graham also said that "every demon from hell" has been "turned loose" in our culture today. "The world has deteriorated so quickly," he said from the stage. "We cannot be deceived and we can’t be fooled. We need to get ready and be prepared."

U.S. officials believe that Ukraine was likely behind the failed drone attack on the Kremlin earlier this month, along with a number of other killings and incursions on Russian territory, according to reports.[Snip] According to The Times, U.S. officials also believe a pro-Ukraine group was behind the attack on the Nord Stream oil pipelines last year, a crucial source of revenue for Russia. Intelligence officials additionally believe Ukraine is behind the bombing that killed Russian military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, incursions into Russian territory from pro-Ukrainian groups and the killing of Daria Dugina, the daughter of a Kremlin ally, last year.
