Chicago Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson (D) told CBS News on Thursday his plan to tackle the city's crime problem: Send more social workers to crime scenes.
Johnson, a staunch progressive, pointed to instances where police killed black men as evidence to say more police officers are not the solution.
"This is really about making sure that people understand the context of the level of frustration when you see that type of brutalization over and over again, it can be discouraging," Johnson explained.
"We're working to double the amount of young people we hire, not just for summer jobs, but for year-round positions," he continued. "We've been pushing this ordinance called 'Treatment, Not Trauma.'

He's really working on that, huh? He's been mayor for about 2 days now, right? Give me a break, you twit.

Chi-Congo will also send witch doctors and medicine men to crime scenes. They will be there to cast spells on the evil spirits. A little voodoo should also be factored into the mix. That seems to be what the natives want.

The mayor is promoting a job for graduating social workers. Permanent replacements will be needed for the dead fools. Fifty years ago they were lower than liberal arts majors.

Put it to practice. It's possible in certain less volatile situations, it may prevent escalating that might occur with a police presence. I grew up there, have family there and it's a mess. Whatever they been doin' ain't working. Police do honorable, incredible, difficult work in the Augean stables, but they are not Hercules.

So if my home is being broken into, I should call a social worker? Can they really be this dumb?

My guess is that police officers would be delighted if social workers replaced them on domestic disputes.

How many of these magic social workers are going to last a year in these suicidal "year-round positions?" Given that the Chicago Police Department has been neutered completely, all they need to do now is to take off their blue uniforms and they can be the new squad of social workers. Brandon is working on that like the other Brandon is working on the economy. Results will be similar.

After a couple of the new Mayor’s social workers are murdered on the streets and the rest refuse to head for crime scenes, who is he going to send? “Ghost Busters”.

Yeah, Treatment Not Trauma or TNT would be equally as effective as social workers at a crime scene.

So once the gun smoke clears there will be a couple thousand fewer residents. In just a few more years there will be no reason for police the population will be whittled down sufficiently.

Only 40%?. It's Chicago; I'd have thought it was nearer 100%
