If you live in the Bay Area and your natural gas-powered water heater stops working after 2027, you will be required to install an electric model instead. Bay Area regulators voted Wednesday to adopt rules to phase out the sale and installation of natural-gas furnaces and water heaters over the next eight years, one of the most ambitious plans in the country to replace gas appliances with electric alternatives. The rules, approved by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, are meant to reduce air pollution from some of the worst home-appliance offenders. The main pollutants targeted are nitrogen oxides

What a complete evil joke. Nitrous Oxide (N2O) emissions from gas appliances are so low as to be almost undetectable, yet the idiot leftists in San Fran claim it has killed a bunch of unsuspecting people, mostly (gasp) People of Color. You would have to inhale a lot of concentrated N2O, aka laughing gas, to do yourself any harm at all.

More load on the grid without increasing the supply? Yeah that should work well

Woke is a religion of STUPID. Ending everything that runs on gas while eliminating fossil fuels and coal will be an act of self-inflicted "harakiri", a willful suicide. For thousands of years, nature always came through to support the livelihood of humankind regardless of global warming, climate change, and fake toxic carbon foot printings. Leave this earth alone, live normally, and allow God to set things up. He will decide when to destroy the earth.

This is nuts, Where do they think they will get the electricity from, or do they have any thought as to how it is generated?

Ronald Reagan has to be turning over in his grave. As an ex-Native Son of California, it is beyond tragic that this once great state has sank into total madness.

Waiting for the first blackout in winter. No heat, no hot water, no lights, no car charging, no stoves for cooking... This is after they pay reparations to Black people, so all White, Hispanic, and Asians have fled due to the new Reparations Tax. There will be chaos and the city destroyed by it's inhabitants.

Are you guilty of wrongthink? Then no electricity for you. You can freeze in your home until your thinking improves.
"The rules, approved by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, are meant to reduce air pollution ..." NO! The rules ultimately are meant to give politicians more control over your life.

I think they would be more worried about the excrement and dirty needles on their streets. People with gas stoves can at least cook when the power goes out and it surely will with the added demand these idiots are placing on the power grid.

After the country goes totally electric our enemies will only need a few well placed electromagnetic pulse bombs (EMP's), blow up several substations, or a few hackers to conquer us.
