The numbers are horrifying, but drug overdose death statistics can't fully convey the crisis ravaging America, so DailyMail.com has documented the suffering in some of the worst-affected communities.   There were 107,622 deaths from drug overdoses in the US in 2021, an increase of nearly 15 percent from the year prior, and shocking national trends show few signs of the crisis abating.  Just two milligrams of fentanyl - the amount that fits on the top of a pencil tip - is deadly. Despite successful nationwide stings to bust dealers, authorities admit there's no end in sight for the epidemic.  The animal sedative Xylazine - known as 'tranq' - is now exacerbating the crisis.

If you watch OPLive on REELZ network on Friday and Saturday night, this wouldn't suprise you one bit. Last night a couple got pulled over in SC with their 3 year old child, every drug you can think of was found in the car some right next to the child's seat. Take them and the homeless move off the streets, pen them in and give them all the drugs and liquor they want. Feed them army slop.

This should be laid at Biden’s feet. He owns it. He and Mayorkas. Fentanyl, made in China, then sent to Mexico where it is incorporated into a number of preparations and pills that are then carried across our southern border.

It is a big mistake to call these "overdoses." They ought to be called poison doses. People are supplying and others buying unknown chemicals of unknown concentration and ingesting or injecting it. They have no idea what they are doing. In many cased the chemicals kills them or permanently harms them. This stuff is poison and anyone supplying it ought to be charged thusly and those taking the chemicals put in rehab for self-harm.

The U.S. Navy has started to collect what remains of a Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon after an Air Force fighter jet shot it down over the weekend. The Department of Defense announced the recovery effort Monday, stating it was taking place about 6 miles off the coast of South Carolina in about 50 feet of water, after rough seas prevented the safe retrieval Sunday. On Saturday, the U.S. Air Force shot down the suspected spy balloon over the Atlantic Ocean after it had floated southeastward across the United States. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the mission to shoot down the balloon was conducted in coordination with the Canadian government.

The first photos of the F-22 Raptor which shot down the spy balloon have been published, as it emerged the U.S. used U2 spy planes, first deployed during the Cold War, to monitor the Chinese balloon - and reports suggested that similar balloons were spotted previously in two more highly-sensitive military sites, but the intelligence community classified them as UFOs. The U-2S Dragon Lady spy planes were enlisted as part of last week's scramble to assess the balloon because they are able to fly at extremely high altitude. The balloon was at 60,000ft, and U-2S routinely fly above 70,000ft: most fighter jets fly at an altitude between 45,000 and 51,000ft.

At this point, everything the Biden team says about the Chinese spy balloon just seems to make the problem worse. One of the big questions that people have had is why the balloon wasn’t shot down earlier, for example, over the Aleutian Islands, near Alaska. Or over any of the less populated areas of Alaska, Canada, or Montana that it went over? Now, they’re out with more comments and they’re not helping themselves. They had earlier claimed they didn’t have a “water shot.” That answer has now “evolved” further. America's Civil War, which raged from 1861 to 1865, was by far the bloodiest conflict in our history. Original estimates put the death toll at about 620,000, including some 360,000 Union and 260,000 Confederate dead. More recent estimates of the carnage are even higher: 750,000 to 850,000. The Battle of Antietam on Sept. 17, 1862, at Sharpsburg, Maryland, still ranks as the bloodiest day in U.S. history, with nearly 23,000 casualties on both sides, including 3,675 killed in action.
