Does Jeff Bezos love football more than he loves newspapers? That’s a question getting tossed around the nation’s capital as its NFL franchise hits the block. Chatter is growing that Amazon’s billionaire founder is looking to clear the way for a purchase of the Washington Commanders by selling the Washington Post — with speculation boosted last month by leaked video of publisher Fred Ryan disclosing layoff plans at an unruly town hall meeting. The problem for Bezos reportedly is that the Commanders’ embattled owner, Dan Snyder, is still sore over the storied newspaper’s series of exposes alleging a toxic management culture at the team

Maybe the Daily Wire will buy it; or, perhaps Donald Trump?

The Daily Wire's real owners, the Wilks brothers, may have the money to buy it, but are they interested?

Maybe he will sell the Washington Post to the Chinese Communists for diversity purposes? In DC these days, at least the leftist and socialist Democrat political half would be pleased as punch.

So that will generate a couple thousand bucks. Now he's just got a couple billion more to go.

In a lot of ways Snyder has been Washington's own version of Jerry Jones, with his ego always getting in the way of getting real football people to make his football decisions. The only thing about his ownership that this life-long Redskins fan can recall is his defense of the team's traditional name, in the face of hostility from the Political Correctness mafia (who presumed to tell everybody what offends American Indians and refused to respect the owner's right to choose what to do with his own property.
With all that in mind, I think I'd rather see Elon buy them and change the name back to Redskins.

Elon Musk might have some extra coin available to acquire this rag. Whatever changes he imposed would have to be improvements. The WaPo hit bottom even before Bezos took over.

Great, now change the name. If Redskins is verboten, I'll suggest "The Hogs".
I can see a great logo and a lot of nationwide support.

He has the wherewithal to own both, he's just looking for. convenient excuse to dump the embarrassment that is the WaPoo.
#2 Ugh is right. Sometimes I fell like Ben is on my side, other times he's far too establishment. One thing is for sure, he is on HIS side before all others.

Just when you think the NFL has dug itself down to rock bottom and couldn't possibly go any lower -- bam, in comes Commie Jeff Bezos!!!
I seldom ever think of the NFL anymore. But, when I do, I am just so thankful that I turned off the last game I ever watched about 5 years ago (when all the stupid and evil kneeling started) and haven't missed it for a second.

Ownership of the WaPo keeps their mouth's shut about Amazon. I thought that is why he bought it. We will see.

Maybe he can trade Dan Snyder straight up - the Redski...errr...Commanders for the Wapoo.
I'd love to see the Post run by Snyder, that would be fun to watch.

The Washington Post motto should be “All the Fish there is to wrap” or “All the birdcages to line”. Other than the NYT, the most anti-conservative, biased “newspaper” in America, We stopped the St. Pete/Tampabay Times during Covid when they went to 2 days a week and never regretted it. Now if we could get rid of the local TV news which is equally biased, All we watch it for now is the weather.

Bezos has done everything in his power, both as owner of the Post and through Amazon to drive the Snyder out and the value of the franchise down. Yeah, he wants, and as cheap as possible

What other leftist Billionaires care enough about spreading Government Propaganda enough to throw their money away?
I figure the Deep State will finance the purchase it with some celebrity rich person as figurehead.

The Washington Poop is worth nothing, their circulation is in the toilet, their staff is a joke and I'll bet you their website doesn't get all that much traffic. The Washington Aborigines are probably worth a billion or more.

Given that print media has been dying ever since Al Gore invented the internet, I doubt if selling the Post would generate enough money to buy a pair of Redskin season tickets.
