The holidays are often a time of indulgence and guests at Disneyland that scoff at the $185 price tag for a tiny shot of booze may be shocked to learn they’re getting a real steal. Disneyland’s The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has an annual holiday cart that offers spirit-infused drinks that carry a festive theme, according to SFGate. This year’s dessert shot is a “waffle shot”- a wafer-lined treat priced at $185 when combined with Remy Martin Louis XIII Grande Champagne Cognac. While this may seem to be an exorbitant price tag, guests can rest assured knowing this price reflects market value, and a standard 1.5-ounce pour of Louis XIII

Hey, I’m a true conservative, fully supporting market prices set by supply and demand. You want to pay those prices, it’s your call. That said, I’ll stick with beer.

That's nothing. Earlier this year, Disney was offering a drink on their Disney Wish cruise ship that cost $5000 plus a mandatory $900 gratuity. Not sure if they're still offering it or if it bit the dust along with Bob Cheapskate's career.

Jeepers. I am not surprised though. Some years ago on trip to Scotland sponsored by by one of our insurance companies my wife and I were invited by the company vp of claims to have a drink at the Old Course Hotel in St.. Andrews. They brought me a scotch whiskey menu that had about a hundred single malts listed. One was 400 pounds, (almost 800 dollars at the exchange rate then). I guess if you were a multi-billionaire you could brag to your friends later about buying such a ridiculous thing. I ordered a nice 8 pound Glenfiddich and thought how much better to give that 800 bucks to a local food pantry. I am a right-wing hard Conservative but one of these days the population will start building guillotines again.

My wife and I were in San Diego at a conference, and went out to dinner on the harbor. Lovely place, windows overlooking the water, all banquettes and red leather…..very Sinatra. Got the desert menu. Yummy deserts, and drinks. Louis XIII was listed at $15!!!!!!! a pop. Of course ordered one. Lovely stuff after a fabulous meal. Wife and I hit the bar afterwards. One more Louis for me, natch. Bartender pours it, manager comes over and says oh so apologetically…”sir, misprint….yadda yadda….” I said..”Ahhh, but printed……and I took a copy of it……” And he graciously charged me……$30.00 for 2 nice sniftered pours. It really was a great night.

Paying such stupidly exhorbitant prices for 1.5 oz of anything that is not solid gold, when compared to what the same money could buy in clothing and food for a poor family, reveals nothing more than a not-so-subtle cry for legitimacy and approval by the person ordering the drink. Anyone paying such prices desperately needs to see a psychological therapist, not a bar tender.

Rep.-elect John James (R-MI) presumed Congress was dysfunctional. The Michigan Republican is nonetheless bewildered by what he’s learning about the institution, and his new colleagues, as he prepares to be sworn into office. Among James’s concerns are House Republicans. Instead of accepting the will of a majority of the GOP conference and preparing to support House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for speaker in a floor vote scheduled for Jan. 3, an obstinate minority are vowing to block the California Republican’s ascension. Their opposition threatens to wreak havoc, delaying the incoming GOP majority from organizing and tackling issues like inflation, public safety, and oversight of President Joe Biden and his administration.

The corporate media still pushes the narrative that global depopulation agenda is a “conspiracy theory.” If, by “conspiracy theory,” it’s meant that the global depopulation agenda is a theory describing a conspiracy of elites to depopulate the world, that’s a technically accurate label. The truth’s right there in the public record for anyone to see. The Dow Jones Media Titans index, which tracks the performance of 30 of the world’s biggest media companies, shed 40 percent this year, with its total market value declining from $1.35 trillion to $808 billion, according to a Financial Times report. The losses outpaced indices for other sectors, including banking, which saw a 14.5 percent drop for the year, and telecommunications, which fell by 11.2 percent.
